It's got an all star cast of Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Jamie King, Paz Vega, Stana Katic, Sarah Paulson, Gabriel Macht, and Samuel L. Jackson. The only reason Macht and Jackson are listed there is because Machet is playing the titular character and Samuel L. Jackson Legion:Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Tenney are finalizing deals to join the Screen Gems thriller "Legion". The trio join the already cast Paul Bettany, Charles S. Dutton, Lucas Black, Kate Walsh, Adrianne Palicki, Kevin Durand and Willa Holland. Scripted by Stewart and Peter Schink, the thriller casts Bettany as the archangel Michael, the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity. Man's lone hope rests with a group of strangers who must deliver a baby they realize is Christ in his second coming. Scott Stewart makes his directorial debut on the project which is about to get under way in New Mexico. The Lone Ranger:"Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Mask of Zorro" scribes Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio are in final negotiations to write a live-action big-screen adaptation of "The Lone Ranger" for Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The hero's origin story begins with a group of Texas Rangers chasing down a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish. The gang ambushes the Rangers, seemingly killing them all. One survivor is found, however, by an American Indian named Tonto, who nurses him back to health. The Ranger, donning a mask and riding a white stallion named Silver, teams up with Tonto to bring the unscrupulous gang and others of that ilk to justice. Final Destination 4:Actor Mykelti Williamson - still best know as the guy who played Bubba in FORREST GUMP - has been added to the cast of FINAL DESTINATION 4. Bruce Willis plays a cop who is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates. My Bloody Valentine 3-D:Jaime King has given her heart to Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3-D, being directed by Patrick Lussier. The film is titled Lost City of Z and is based on David Grann's manuscript about the search for a lost city in the Amazon. The non-fiction book concerns British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, who was attempting to find the so-called City of Z when he and his party disappeared in 1925. Over the next 70 years, scores of explorers tried and failed to retrace Fawcett's path, including a 1996 expedition of Brazilian adventurers. Pitt would play Fawcett. Art House Movie: There Will Be FartsKevin Sorbo and Carmen Electra are aboard to star as Antwone Sugar and Dia-blow Cody in the film that will set out to spoof such recent art house classics as No Country for Old Men, Juno and, of course, There Will Be Blood. http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4120/twbfpostervu6.jpg 25/8:Wes Craven is heading back behind the lens and he is taking Dennis Hopper's offspring with him as Henry Lee Hopper will play the lead role in the horror thriller 25/8 for Rogue Pictures. The film will mark Hopper's professional acting debut. Joining Hopper will be Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade. Hopper will play Bug, one of seven teens haunted by a serial killer who supposedly died when they were born 15 years earlier. The film takes place over the course of a day as the mystery of who (or what) is stalking the small-town high schoolers unfolds. Splice:Senator Entertainment has acquired distribution rights in North America, Germany and Spain to the sci-fi thriller "Splice" from writer-director Vincenzo Natali. Film, which stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley, revolves around two scientists who undertake illegal genetic experiments and create a new species fusing human and animal DNA. As the pair become global celebrities, the consequences of their accomplishment begin to become apparent. Natali is a protege of Guillermo del Toro, who is exec producing alongside Senator's Marco Weber and Don Murphy ("Transformers"). "Splice" was financed by Gaumont and is produced by Steve Hoban of Copperheart Entertainment. The project is due for theatrical release in 2009. Zombie Strippers:Zombie Strippers tells what happens when a secret government agency lets out a deadly chemo virus causing the reanimation of the dead, the first place to get hit is Rhino's, a hot underground strip club. According to the trades, "King" centers on a man who must return to the fantasy world which he abandoned 30 years earlier. Max Payne:Chris O'Donnell has landed a role in 20th Century Fox's big screen adaptation of the video game "Max Payne". The action-adventure centers on a cop (Mark Wahlberg), haunted by the death of his family, who's hot on the heels of a series of new murders. O'Donnell will play executive Jason Colvin. Mila Kunis and Beau Bridges also star. John Moore directs the film which is currently shooting in Toronto. An October 17th release is planned. The Surrogates:Michael Jai White, we're told, is in talks to join the cast of the new sci-fi action thriller "The Surrogates", starring Bruce Willis. The "Spawn" and "Dark Knight" star previously worked with Willis on the dark comedy "Breakfast of Champions" (1998). No word on which character White is up for, but it's no doubt for a character that doesn't mind getting a bit bruised and battered. Directed by Jonathan Mostow, the film is set in the near future, where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates. Last Blood:Benderspink is adapting "Last Blood," based on Bobby Crosby's comicbook centered on a band of vampires protecting the Earth's last human survivors of a zombie apocalypse. "Last Blood" was co-created by siblings Bobby Crosby and Chris Crosby but Bobby penned the comicbook alone. The deal with Benderspink reps the first feature sale for the brothers, who founded Blatant Comics in 1997 and began serializing "Last Blood" online in late 2006. The story was then published in four issues last year. Benderspink, headed by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, has a variety of comicbook properties set up including "Power and Glory" and "Y: The Last Man" at New Line, "The Ghouly Boys" at Mandate and "Pet Robots" at Disney. It's also developing "Area 52," a sci-fi actioner based on the Image Comics series by Brian Haberlin. Igniz
TRANSFORMERS 2 News There has been some web speculation that Transformers 2 is already in production, that is not accurate, it's public knowledge that Michael Bay worked on the script during the WGA strike and once it was over it was handed over to the writing trio of Kurtzman/Orci/Kruger. So a lot of prep work has already been done on the film getting ready for the upcoming July start date, the film is definitely gearing up for the intended mid-summer start date. Now, on with the ROBOT ROLL CALL! First, the Decepticons will be getting some new help in the form of Constructicons. In the cartoons, their names were Scrapper, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Hook and Long Haul. And what do we get when they all combine and form one huge ass robot? That’s right boys and girls, we are going to see DEVASTATOR on the big screen! Quote Link to comment

The original introduced Number 5, a robot built by the military to be a highly sophisticated weapon. Original scribes S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock have been hired to write the remake. Veteran producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Nick Wechsler are on board as producers. Cirque du Freak:Paul Weitz is adapting the script as well as directing. CIRQUE DU FREAK has picked up John C. Reilly, Josh Hutcherson, Chris Kelly, Salma Hayek, and Ken Watanabe. Reilly is set to play the main vampire, Hutcherson the 14-yr old lead, and Hayek as the bearded lady. A vampire drafts a 14-year old to serve as his assistant. The youth is turned into a half-vampire and becomes the catalyst in a battle between vampires and the rival Vampanese.
