It was announced today that master filmmaker, Tsui Hark, fresh from his success with last year’s Seven Swords is teaming with Hong Kong’s visionary producer Peter Chan on The Eye 3, the next installment in the hugely popular The Eye franchise, according to a press release that went out last night. Psychiatrist Ching is mourning the tragic loss of her husband, Dave, in a deep-sea photographic expedition accident. Overcome with grief, she is unable to free herself from the debilitating grips of emotional turmoil. Dave went missing whilst photographing an ancient ruin deeply submersed in unknown waters, a headless corpse was subsequently recovered in the following days. After Dave’s inexplicable death, Ching begins experiencing a vivid, recurring memory of her lost husband entering the labyrinth of the ancient city and vanishing suddenly. Having never dived in her life nor laid eyes on the ruin herself, the striking details and intense authenticity of the memory hold Ching hostage to the idea That—through his dying memory—her husband may be trying to reveal something to her about his accident. Simon--a patient of Ching who fell ill after the sudden death of his lover—has been confessing to her about his belief that, on the verge of death, a human being can see the departed. Desperate to be reunited with her beloved, Ching is profoundly affected by his claim and decides to take a leap of faith by extracting her own blood and casting herself at death’s door. H6: Diary of a Serial Killer

H6 tells Antonio Frau's story, he is a serial killer that acts on the less fortunate people. Moved by his desire to be in the limelight mixed with pseudocientist theories, gives freedom to his most violent and destructive impulses. This film is, among other things, a journey inside a psychopath's mind.

Speed Racer:

It's been talked about for a long time now that Larry and Andy Wachowski wanted to make a movie based on the cartoon and manga Speed Racer property but word finally comes through that the movie is a definite go! The flick will be based on the classic 1960s series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida that later was retooled for North American audiences, the big-screen film will follow the adventures of the young race car driver Speed in his quest for glory in his thundering gadget-laden vehicle, Mach 5. The movie will feature other characters from the show, including Speed's family and his mysterious archrival, Racer X. Producer Joel Silver announced that they were moving ahead on the project, adding that the brothers are designing the movie's look as they write. The plan is for the Wachowskis to shoot the family-friendly film in summer 2007 for a summer 2008 release.

 

 

The Eye (remake):

The Jessica Alba starer, The Eye, will hit theaters December 21, 2007. The remake of the Thai horror film, which was written by Sebastian Gutierrez and Hillary Seitz, will be helmed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud. A blind girl gets a cornea transplant so that she would be able to see again. However, she got more than what she bargained for when she realized she could even see ghosts. And some of these ghosts are down right unfriendly. So she embarks on a journey to find the origins of her cornea and to reveal the history of the previous dead owner.

 

 

One Missed Call (remake):

In this remake of the Japanese horror flick, Margaret Cho joins Ed Burns as another member of the police department. Cho's character is a cynical policewoman who doesn't believe that the friends of a local college student (played by Shannyn Sossamon) are getting voice mails from their future selves in the process of dying, leaving them a couple of days to save themselves from their fate.

 

 

I Am Legend:

Will Smith stars in the film, which is about a deadly plague that turns everyone in the world into vampires. A lone scientist remains human and works furiously to formulate a cure to the plague, while each night vampires terrorize his barricaded home.
