Hot Fuzz:

Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He’s so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel’s superiors send him to a place where his talents won’t be quite so embarrassing -- the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford.

Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman (Nick Frost). The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman (Jim Broadbent), Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny’s puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel’s growing frustration.

However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny’s dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality. It's time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice.

Disturbia:

After his father's death, Kale Brecht (LaBeouf) becomes sullen, withdrawn, and troubled -- so much so that he finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest. His mother, Julie (Moss), works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy. The walls of his house begin to close in on Kale. He becomes a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home towards those of his neighbors, one of which Kale begins to suspect is a serial killer. But, are his suspicions merely the product of cabin fever and his overactive imagination?

Batman: The Dark Knight

Well, it's official: after much speculation, the character of D.A. Harvey Dent has been cast in the upcoming BATMAN sequel THE DARK KNIGHT.

As has been rumored, Aaron Eckhart will indeed be bringing his charm and heroic jaw to Christopher Nolan's follow-up film, joining Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne, Heath Ledger's Joker, Gary Oldman's Jim Gordon, and (theoretically) Maggie Gyllenhaal's Rachel Dawes. For those unaware, Dent is a friend of Bruce Wayne and ultimately becomes the villain Two-Face,

whose visage is half-covered by a horrific scar that also causes some serious personality issues and dating difficulties.

Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra

Matt Marsden has joined the cast of Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra starring Sylvester Stallone. In the movie, Marsden will play a mercenary who works with Rambo. RAMBO IV begins filming next Friday in Thailand. No word on a perspective release date, but let's hope they hook us up with a real Holiday treat.

The Hardy Men:

Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller will star in The Hardy Men for Twentieth Century Fox. Shawn Levy will direct. Based on the "Hardy Boys" mystery series, the action comedy will star Cruise and Stiller as the once wonderkind youth sleuths who have now grown up. Long estranged, they’re brought together to solve one last case. Fox hopes to go into production by 2008.

Avatar:

James Cameron has confirmed that Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, C.C.H. Pounder and Laz Alonso have joined the cast of his 3D CG feature "Avatar". Cameron now begins a stage of the production called Pre-Capture with stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana at the WETA studios in New Zealand. The film gets released Summer 2009.

"Avatar" follows a wounded ex-marine who is thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity. He eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
