Job Posting for Systems Deployment Engineer

 

Position Synopsis:

Provide monitoring and support of the Firm’s Deployment Systems. This position also entails building and maintaining a close working relationship with all other teams within the department.

 

Tasks:

• Monitor Package distribution and troubleshoot where necessary.

Job Posting: Systems Administration Assistant

 

Position Summary:

The Systems Administrator Assistant is in charge of maintaining all electronic access belonging to the Library, including but not limited to the Global Catalogue, the Electronic Subscriptions Database, all forms of electronic access contained within those aggregators, as well as with data on local/practice oriented pages built within the Global Catalogue.

 

Duties and Accountabilities:

 

The Systems Administrator Assistant acts as a backup to the Technical Services Manager in liaising with the Library Catalogue remote administration, making sure that the catalogue is up and running at its optimal parameters at any time.

S/he will assume a pro-active role in maintaining each connection contained in the Catalogue, by periodically testing them and moving to re-instate all non-working links. Also, the Systems Administrator Assistant will solve connection problems when prompted by librarians and end users.

The Systems Administrator Assistant will build and maintain global, local, practice-oriented, as well as ad-hoc pages as requested by the library management team. Ad-hoc or special interest pages will contain RSS resources, research materials, and any information that would be client or topic oriented. In building those pages, the Systems Administrator Assistant will use SydneyPlus capabilities and pre-designed templates. The successful candidate will document all the elements on those pages by maintaining a journal and be able to answer questions about usage from reference librarians, technical staff, and end users. S/he will also periodically check for consistency of the links and other relations among pages.

The individual selected will also maintain links in databases external to the Global Catalogue, such as the Electronic Subscriptions Database. S/he will periodically test all connections, and report any malfunction, while prioritizing problem vendors.

The Systems Administrator Assistant will work with the Technical Services Manager setting up initial permissions, group structure and other administrative settings in the global catalogue, as well as various alterations in the administrative module.

The Systems Administrator Assistant will act as a backup to the Technical Services Manager in updating our external IP addresses, firm-wide. To that end, the person will share a journal with the Technical Services Manager, with all IP external addresses and will liaise with vendors when changes in IP addressing system are made.

The Systems Administrator Assistant will also maintain or initiate connections to full-text items in other databases, such as CLE.

The successful candidate will be able to respond to routine technical questions from library staff and users.

S/he will prepare reports on usage, usability, research, etc., drawn from various databases, as instructed by the Library Director or the Technical Services Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

 

The Systems Administrator Assistant will be in permanent communication with the Manager of Technical Services, as well as local Librarians.

S/he will report on all electronic communication problems found during routine checkups and suggest ways to solve them.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Good command of the English language, exceptional attention to detail.

Good understanding of http, tcp/ip, and ftp protocols; working knowledge of http and Cascading Style Sheets, good understanding of database concepts; SQL knowledge a plus.

Position Summary:

Design, develop and implement Web based solutions for Global Client and Practice Systems group. Coordinate any type of practice or client specific development efforts and KM based initiatives in all regions. Perform other duties as required by the Firm.

Position Synopsis:

Utilize and maintain security technologies including but not limited to all elements of security such as encryption, electronic hygiene, vulnerability assessment, operating systems, directory services, email, document management and remote access systems in the Firm.

• Utilize and maintain global security infrastructure and other related technologies (email hygiene, encryption, intrusion prevention systems, anti-virus, firewall, network access control, unified security console, etc).

Multi-Lingual Customer Service Associates are the foundation of the company. Their main responsibility is to interface with our client’s customers to provide customer service or make sales. Multi-Lingual Customer Service Associates will work in a professional environment, using PCs and the telephone to communicate with customers. They are required to be extremely flexible in their work hours, including working during U.S. daytime hours (night in the Philippines).
