Doc fusarium how about the effects of massage to person with a bp problem. Whats your medical answer??

Massage may relax aching muscles and calms one's nerves, but it can paradoxically increase your BP. If you really wanna have a massage ask your therapists to go soft on you and just do the effleurage (himas-himas) rather than the petrissage (deep kneading, hard massage) type..

Good that you brought that up. A sedentary (no regular exercise, does not engage in any physical sport like basketball, swimming, etc.) lifestyle puts one at higer risk of developing hypertension.

 

 

Btw, yung pagiging sedentary hindi lang pang-mayaman yan, meron din mga "batugan" na walang trabaho, tambay sa kanto, tomador, strong-tulog, etc. na matatawag din "sedentary".laugh.gif

Secondary question sets of activities ano pwede?? Aside sa gym. Leave ako basically yoko risk life ko versus stress. Specially mahirap day to day management. So what kind of routine ang pwede???

 

Last how to lessen nicotine I don't and will not give up my cigarette. Dyan red line ko.I will not stop smoking??

I'm fortunate to have been born well off but even as kids my parents ask us ( my siblings and i ) to do household chores and that, we carried on until today. I'm a handyman of sorts around the house fixing things here and there just to make sure i work out a sweat everyday. I used to go to the gym in my 20's and early 30's but now going there is like a waste of time. I'd rather spend it at home doing small projects. I'm into carpentry and gardening nowadays and i can't believe that i worked out quite a sweat just making a park bench out of antique lumber that i got from our old house. Spending almost 2-3 hours everyday (except on MP and Espakol days, hehe ) in my garage which i turned into a carpentry shop / workplace and it's been 12 years since. It kept me from being a couch potato all these years and it worked wonders. Right now i'm in my mid 40's with a 34" waistline and a normal BP. My doctor advised me against sedentary lifestyle and give up smoking which i did 10 years ago. The turning point though was when i gave up smoking. You know what they say, SMOKING KILLS! Just sharing.

Doc bakit pati es kasama di ba exercise yung es no pun intended. Advice kasi nung cardio ko sex is ok. Yun daw mas grabe allowed to play daw.Situation ko pa. Just asking what I see mukhang joker sila or they are risking my life.

Seriously, sex can only be considered an exercise if its done on a regular basis and with a regular partner you're in a monogamous relationship with..otherwise, its not an exercise but a stressful activity (not matter how "gratifying" it can get)..

 

 

Kaya nga, for post-bypass patients, sex is prohibited for 3 weeks (legal partner) or 3 months (illicit relationship), or until the patient can successful climb up and down 2 flights of a 12-16-steps stairs, without symptoms of shortness of breath, difficulty of breathing, chest pain, or palpitations.

Active lifestyle, not sedentary. No need to enroll yourself to any health club, but you do have to get your butt of that chairman desk and do some exercise, like calisthenics, core excercises, etc. Jog/bike every morning, don't use the elevator to and from your office..mga ganun.

 

 

In your case, pre, since you have a co-morbid condition, I would advise to seek clearance first with your two specialist before embarking into any exercise program.

 

Pero you definitely need to stop smoking..no ifs nor buts nor red lines..

No TV for me for about 7 yrs now. I get my news online.

Buti na lang. Last time I tried watching local TV news, it turns out it's not news reporting anymore but editorials. The newscasters put their opinion out together with the news. It makes it more sensational and the show longer. More time wasted for something that can be read online in a few minutes with more depth.

 

The catch is that electronic devices are the new time eaters now. Discipline is also needed to limit time on these devices.

 

Regular exercise can also be addictive! Kung regular ka nag-basketball, tennis, badminton, takbo, etc. hahanap-hanapin ng katawan mo pag natigil. On extended high heart rate exercises, you get a natural "high". A happy kind of high. :-D

Yup i know what you're talking about every time i worked out a sweat in the gym or a jog around the neighborhood it gives me a certain high i never get from sitting down watching TV or winning that big pot on FB Texas Hold 'Em Poker.
