pr0t
It looks better though it might need getting used to since you don't get to see the usual windows start button - based on the microsoft website win 8 pro download is around $39.99 - For the DVD apps - you need to download it from the Microsoft Store - I am not sure if there are free dvd player apps available. Yah I love its metrostyle UI but how come its famous Windows Media Player still cant play DVD or BD? It shouldnt be named Media Player if it cant. Quote Link to comment

SamanthaJones
It's a pain in the ass to get into safe mode with networking now that Microsoft had already taken that F8 functionality. As per design, windows will atuomatically go into the recovery state if it's not booting properly. The dilemma is when you simply need to go to safe mode for troubleshooting purposes. You need to crash it at least twice by turning it on or off. You can also try shift+f8 in windows before shutting it down. Quote Link to comment

pr0t
now, tell me about UX (user experience). Window$ has been more profit centric than user friendly ever since. The last time I checked, they're not already the most advanced OS, yet MS still dreams of selling it in premium. Quote Link to comment

SamanthaJones
available na ba sa mga malls? i think so.. Tested the Windows 8 RT on a Lenovo Hybrid (Laptop tablet in one) and the operation is very responsive with brilliant GUI very much like the iPad 3... i'd agree it works best on tablets. thedarknight
Windows 8 is cool! Information technology is now going mobility that's why Windows 8 has been built by Microsoft. Windows 7 still good because it is base OS of Windows 8. Some tweaks and additional features that make Windows 8 more fast and compatible in almost applications. Enjoy, explore and adopt!
