saprophiticus
Spurs will pick #11 in the 2020 NBA draft. This is the highest pick ever since the #1 pick Tim Duncan in 1997. Usually, Spurs pick last but still end up with good players like Tony Parker #29, Manu Ginobili #52, Kyle Anderson #30, Derrick White #29, Dejounte Murray #29, Corey Joseph #29 (Team Canada), George Hill #26, Tiago Splitter #28 and Beno Udrih #30. The only aberration was last years draft when the Spurs got to pick #18 (Lonnie Walker), #19 (Luka Samanic) and #29 (Keldon Johnson) when they barely made the playoffs. It is a youth movement for San Antonio in the next few years which is part of the rebuilding strategy. Quote Link to comment
saprophiticus
Spurs updates: Front office wants to trade either DeMarr or Lamarcus to GSW in exchange for the #2 pick. The #11 pick and protected draft picks for 2022 and 2023 will also go to GSW. I think GSW will prefer Derozan and his expiring contract over Aldridge but the Spurs don't have much leverage in this proposed trade. Another trade will involve champs Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma of Lakers in exchange for Los Angeles native Derozan. BTW, TD just quit as Assistant Coach of the Spurs Quote Link to comment
saprophiticus
Tim Duncan and the Spurs could have been 6-0 in the finals if Ray Allen missed this three point shot. images (3).jpegDid you see the yellow ropes at the back of Ray Allen? They were intended to hold off the crowd rushing into the court to celebrate with the Spurs winning the NBA crown. TMac and Gary Neal were doing a high five not far from this scene. TMac jinxed his team (again). Remember him celebrating early with Orlando Magic? Quote Link to comment
ppdd
spurs off to a good start. 7 players in double figures vs grizz. go spurs go! Quote Link to comment
Maj Mujtaba
until they have another TD, MG and TP caliber players, they will NOT be a contender even the playoffs is in jeopardy just my honest opinion Quote Link to comment
den2f
true. The spurs are just like the bulls. after their franchise player leaves they are not able to contend again. Quote Link to comment
