Free will or predestination? Either way, life feels like choosing your own adventure… in a book someone else wrote.

Mostly we have no free will.  Our predispositions towards choices are genetic and based on environment/trauma.  Personality is fairly static across a lifetime though one can change that through intensive self work.  It is just that absent any factor that forces that introspection most don't participate.

Free will exists in real time and comes with the nature of humanity. Pre-destination, on the other hand I believe, would be a product of human logic, philosophy, and part of human’s free will. But yet again, we will never know whether every story is already written. It’s your “free will” whether to believe.

In many cases the path is winding and a lot of diversions,eventually it will end up in either where you want to be or where you originally start,consider yourself lucky if it brings you half way through your wanted destination. It is your free will that leads you at the end of the day...so choose wisely.
