We all know that the GOAT label is just an opinion

different rules and different styles of play in different eras apply

 

Bill Russel - 11 championships... but was the league stacked with enough talents and are there any good teams during his era

 

Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Jordan (yeah, we don't need to mention his 1st name, that's how great they say he is) played in an era where rough play wouldn't result to flagrant fouls,flops were unheard of

would Lebron or Kobe thrive in their era or vice versa

 

this topic about greatness is pointless

everybody has a favorite and that influences their opinion

Mj one of the best, no doubt. Can't say if he is best. I think swerte swerte, depends on competition. If mahina kalaban, a team or player can dominate. I've heard some people argue that's what happened in 91-98 bulls era.

 

For example Tom hanks and spencer Tracy are only actors who won academy awards best actor twice in a row. Can you say they are the best actors of all time?
