I only started watching the series last year but was hooked right away. Basically, Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord—a time travelling, humanoid alien with two hearts known as the Doctor. He explores the universe in his TARDIS—a sentient, telepathic time machine that flies through time and space. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, a common sight in 1963, when the series first aired. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes while working to save civilisations, help ordinary people, and right wrongs.

 

The programme is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world[3] and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all time—based on its over-all broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, and iTunes traffic.

the first 2 series are boring because of the animation and the effects but I continued watching.

The episodes got better though.

Got hooked on this. Still at season3, trying to catch up. Totoo ngang nakakadiscourage yung pilot episode ng season1 from 2005 but it gets better. Much better.

any whovians here? I can't believe the last entry was way back 2014? Doctor Who is just the #1 sci fi series of all time. and the longest running too. if you talk to a fellow Whovian, there is no end to it.

 

I hope there are others here who like Doctor Who

I love the 10th doctor and Donna Noble. I love their chemistry. Amy Pond and Rory Williams are hard to top. Its like I can't picture the 11th without them. That's why Clara is so ineffective for me as a companion. I'm not particularly crazy about the 12th (13th).... technically he is the 13th. the 10th regenerated twice. but shouldn't he be the 14th? All these timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff!

I love the 12th! It's a shame though that his adventures haven't been as consistently engaging as those of his predecessors. I love his grumpy demeanour and personal style. Liked Clara but Amy Pond is still by far my favourite companion.

I love peter capaldi, but i think i need a younger doctor. i nominate rupert grint. and a different companion. the one they have this coming season is like an annoying version of donna noble.

Capaldi takes some getting used to. And for me, they bungled Clara's story line. I like David Tennant and Matt Smith more, especially during Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) as the companion.
