SaintPeter5858
Now that FIFA Asia is unachievable, our Azkals boys might be separated again. Quote Link to comment
blow_gobi
There's still the Lo Teng Cup (Sep), Southeast Asian Games (Nov), a 4-Nation Invitational (planned - Malaysia, Singapore, Phils, and either Thailand or Vietnam), and AFC Challenge Cup (Mar). The problem now is keeping the same roster of talent for the rest of the year because at least half of the players will be busy with their mother clubs in Europe as the European football season unfolds in the 3rd quarter. Some of these players, like Neil Etheridge, have been promoted by their clubs partly because of good performance with the Azkals. That's why Dan Palami is going to Europe to recruit more players. SaintPeter5858
Hope the Azkals can attract more talents from Fil-Fors across Europe and in the provinces. They will be the future of Phil futbol Quote Link to comment

solicitor
let just accept the fact that at this point in time, these azkals can only beat those malnourished footballers from sri lanka and mongolia. Let us not overhype these foreign azkals and create false hope for the fans. Maybe we should start looking for replacement to those azkals tying to be in showbusiness or pretending/dreaming to be in showbiz, and start recruiting players who will just concentrate on playing the game of football. SaintPeter5858
does it contribute to the popularity of the Azkals that some of them are half Europeans? Quote Link to comment

blow_gobi
OK lang. It's not a major tournament. PH is just there to keep a tradition and maintain goodwill. It's a popular tournament among the Fil-Chis, so participating is crucial for potential financial support from the Chinese community. Quote Link to comment

We, too, are foreigner by blood, just like some Azkas. Nagkataon lang sa abroad sila pinanganak. Unless you look like an Igorot or an Aeta, you, too, are not a pure Pilipino. Its not overhype. The team just made history by making it to the 2nd round for the first time in Philippine football history. We are still new to football, popularity and pansinan. So, lets just support the team and applaude whether they make victories here and abroad. May dugong Pinoys naman sila. Quote Link to comment
