Oh my. Batanes is my dream destination. My friend went there and she still couldn't stop talking about it. Apparently I have to save up to 30k to cover a week's trip. Oh well.

Go to Currimao, Ilocos Norte then ride a ship for 20 hours going to Batanes.

just want to share my experiemce when we visited Batanes in 2011.

 

Our trip there was company sponsored bec of the nature of our work so everything was paid by our company except mga pasalubong.

 

Initially we stayed at fundacion but later transferred sa bayan kasi napakalungkot sa lugar ng fundacion pacita.

Basco, you can tour the island in 1 day, a very serene place para kang nasa ibang lugar minus the noise d2 sa manila. People here are very friendly, ngiti lgi pag nakasalubong mo sila..even alam nila dayo ka.

 

Itbayat island, 10mins from Basco via plane, 8 seater capacity, bit scary but charge to experience...laid back town, old church to visit. When we visited this place, no airport then only landing strip.

 

Sabtang Island, 45 mins by boat from basco, moderate to heavy waves kahit dry season but its all worth it. You can catch a tuna kahit nasa boat ka. Wlang katig ang bangka pero meron naman life vest. Don't miss this place pag nagpunta kayo sa batanes.

 

Food is abundant...lobster, flying fish, etc. No common market or palengke here nasa mga houses lang nagtitinda ng meat, etc.

 

All worth the money if you visit this place, if you are a nature lover, go for it.

 

I think meron na improvement sa mga lugar na din since 2011...but for sure they will retain the culture tradition on which the island is known for.

 

Expenses and budget are pricey but all worth it. Much cheaper pag via Tuguegarao but land travel gokng there pa. Plane directly to basco bit pricey but less tiring. Accommodation, lots to choose from kahit sa locals pwede mag stay lalo na pag peak season.
