Maykeee
socmed becomes a new realm that welcomes everyone. it is open for those who want to explore (casual users, entreprenplore public entities, etc. ) and/or exploit (scammers, trolls, seller of contrabands, etc.) the opportunities there. even the forbidden ones can enter (minors) even there are rules, there are still lots of ways to outwit the rulers (the socmed admin) but what matters most to the ruler is the monies/created that the realm will generate out of this heavy traffic of people who became part of the cyber society that they created Quote Link to comment
TunogKalye
Social media is designed to make us think. Like maybe, I should be somewhere else doing something else with someone else. But if you always think that your happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are. We sometimes forget that happiness isn’t a destination. It’s a state of mind. It is about appreciating the here and the now. In the grand tapestry of life, social media is just one thread. It should never define our self-worth or happiness. Quote Link to comment
HappyPill
Phishing, Identity Theft, Online Scams, and the like. While social media is supposed to make social networking and information dissemination a lot easier, ill motives and self interests have recently cropped-up. Damn, there is big money in online illegal activities and that does not even include the Dark Web. Troll farms for example charge in the millions just to spread fake news. Although the actual intention of social media is to bring people closer, it resulted in immense bitterness and indifference to some, making us more distant from each other than ever before. reek
Tribalism. We tend to only join groups and people who have the same interests, and opinions. In short, social media fortified the echo chambers we live in. We forgot that we live in a community of diverse cultures, and opinions. Quote Link to comment
