azraelmd
I think Vic Manuel will be a new breed of Pingris plus he's good in Midrange and more MUSCLE.. parang pati mukha puro muscle eh.... tinamaan na ng solid na siko sa mukha ni JayR Reyes eh pinagpag lang at di man lang dumugo.... Yup...looks very solid...magaling magbox out too...pero magaling magbox out din si ping...plus kayang tumalon ng paulit ulit...sa opensa lamang si vic...medyo ok na pamalit to kay ping nga... Mukhang madaming nag aagree kay vic manuel ah lol... Edited January 23, 2016 by azraelmd Quote Link to comment
junix
http://m.spin.ph/basketball/news/france-or-greece-canada-or-czechs-here-is-how-olympic-qualifying-draw-will-go the road to rio will not be that easy...but with the entire nation backing up gilas 4.0, we will surely be there fighting til the end. LABAN PILIPINAS!!! PUSO!!! Quote Link to comment
junix
I would rather face Greece and the Czech Republic. France is just too good. But if France will fall in our bracket, so be it. Bahala na si Castro kay Parker, one of the couple of reasons i would prefer France to be in another bracket. My wish list for our bracket:1. Greece- We already faced them in the Worlds. We just need bigs to neutralize their size advantage. Having Clarkson will be a big boost as, I think, he will be the one to guard Antetokummpo.2. Croatia- same observation as with the Greeks3. Puerto Rico- we already faced them and the one who beat us was Barea. Coach Tab might put Clarkson on him. If Clarkson can shut him down, that is winning half the battle as Barea is their heart and soul and the offense emanates from him.4. Senegal- We already beat them.5. Czech Republic- I haven't heard anything positive about this team and they really are not a European power. However, it is always better to err on the side of caution.if these 5 nations will be in our bracket, we do have more than a fighting chance to snatch that ticket to rio. greece will be the biggest obstacle. but then, with a much improved junmar, the addition of clarkson, plus our homecourt, greece will be in for a rough sailing. we'll just have to trust coach tab on this. junix
Greece and Croatia actually but homecourt brings out the best in any team. Slaughter is a must. oh yes...greg should be included in the lineup. i'm watching greece vs. spain right now on solar sports. matatangkad nga. even their PG (i forgot his name) i think is even taller than abueva. junix
Their pint guard is Nick Calathes of the Grizzlies. If I am not mistaken, he is an American of Greek descent.no wonder...he's got the moves. if ever we get to meet greece, this is one guy we should shut down...or at least disrupt how he runs the offense of greece. anak ng @#!* ang tatangkad ng nasa greece. bonanas
this just shows how pathetic our basketball program is when we speak of our national team. ang nangyayari nauuna pa ang commercial basketball...pera-pera lang talaga. may practice nga every monday, di naman kumpleto. sabi nga ni chief bonanas, walang matinong practice. even coach tab has been complaining about this. We're trying to play catch up with the world's talent level and we're still too far in the bottom. Pero lalo tayong nase setback-an ng lack of commitment ng stakeholders and puro band aid solutions na galawan. Talagang parang pangarap na lang, mahirapan tayo humabol, Team USA na lang with their talent, mga legit stars sama ng loob pag na drop sa roster. Oh well, what can we do but watch and pray na lang. Asa na naman tayo sa puso come tournament time. Quote Link to comment

Asa na naman tayo sa puso come tournament time.ang sa akin lang naman chief eh consistent lang tayong maka-qualify sa olympics at fiba world okay na yan. kung maka pasok naman tayo sa 2nd round, bonus na lang yan. at least to be consistently representing asia (instead of china or iran), tingin ko malaking achievement na yan. we are not asking for the moon naman na kung saan matatalo natin ang team usa o kaya russia. but how can we even come close to our goal when politics take center stage in sports. bumuo nga lang ng lineup pahirapan pa. inutusan nang mag-training, kulang-kulang pa. we'll see in the coming days if we can put our acts together. we can only hope at this time my friend. 1 Quote Link to comment

Agree ako dyan sir, kumbaga ma expose lang tayo sa competition and go deeper as time goes by and hopefully maka playoff spot. Sobrang baby steps, ewan ko kung abutin pa natin yung pinakamimithi natin, pero suporta pa din. Laban Pilipinas!!! Quote Link to comment

dencio
Very tough group ... big uphill battle for our team. As a basketball fan, though, excited to see high quality games from the highly-rated French, the rising Canadians, the physical Kiwis, the tough Turks and the tall Senegalese. Quote Link to comment

junix
the way i understand how this qualifying will go, gilas, france and nz being grouped together in group b will play each other...meaning each nation in each group will be playing 2 games in the 1st round. after the 1st round, the top 2 teams in each group will go to the crossover (no. 1 in group A will play against the no. 2 of group B, no. 1 in group B faces the no. 2 in group A). our first game will be against nz after gilas takes a bye...then we get to play france. must win is the game against nz to secure at least 2nd place in group B. tough...but with faith and prayers, it is not impossible.
