what will be your line-up for the fiba world cup in spain set from aug 30-sept 14, 2014? will you retire alapag, take out gary david and bring in another shooter who can be more consistent?

IMHO we need to develop our three point shooting offense to an extraordinary level so much so that it would offset what we lack in height. Ang problema is off and on ang three point shooting natin, one night it's Jeff Chan, on another night it's Fonacier and Gary David still has to find his explosiveness yet. Kung yun tatlong ito ay sabay sabay pumutok, Iran would have been history.

 

Our three point shooters have to learn how to catch and shoot from at least one meter beyond the arc. Mabilisan ang asinta at malayo ang dapat pinanggagalingan ng three point shot natin to offset the height and speed of our opponents guards who are usually standing 6'4 or taller. Malakas na ang offense natin on the run ng mga guards natin like Castro, Alapag and Tenorio - wala na cguro tatalo sa atin dito. Three point shooting nalang ang ayusin.

I think our backcourt is already fine... you can't go better than Castro, Tenorio and Alapag... our frontline could be improved... Sonny Thoss and Beau Belga may be considered...

Can you imagine Alapag/Tenorio guarding Kyrie Irving? or Ocampo/Pingris guarding Carmelo or Durant or Lebron!

The need to have good shooters is already a given sa international competition kaya dapat masanay na tumitira laban sa malalaki since most of the teams playing will be bigger, stronger and can possibly match our speed.

 

Thus I think we need to go bigger and still maintain our "speed" para hindi naman tayo kalabawin.

 

So for me kung may matatanggal man sa current line-up para maimprove ang team sana hindi ikasama ng loob.

sad but marcus really has to go. thats the only way we can get an effective 7 footer. we're only allowed 1 naturalized player.

Im kinda curious if Abueva can be included in the lineup, since we need energy guys and pangkulit narin sa opponents. But the question is, how can he fit with the dribble drive offense of Gilas.

 

Thoss can be included again in the lineup for defensive purposes and even Arwind Santos.

Canaleta and Joe Devance are good materials- tall and can shoot the threes...can play the 4, and to some extreme emergency cases may be the the 5. Gary David may be a sentimental member of the Spain-bound team, as a prize for their sacrifice and contribution.But if we intend to improve and have better chances in the FIBA-World, he has to go.

Rumors on twitter that Chot is set to tap Thoss, Casio and Abueva to replace Fajardo, Tenorio and David. Not sure if this is true pero kung totoo, dear Mr. Uytengsu wag madamot this time please?

i think tenorio is a vital cog in the team. very intelligent point guard and can match up on defense even with at the most 6'4" point guards. i wonder what will happen to jimmy alapag. he will be 36 next year. i think he still has it.

how about getting greg slaugther. diba kasali naman sya sa gilas cadet pool. may potential naman sya madedevelop pa skills nya lalo na he's entering the 2013 draft pick. may nabasa din ako rumors that si beau belga baka isama na this time.
