^@animus:general admission lang ako kanina;hindi ako nag gamble mag lower box standing na din kasi. uhm, price range 1.2k patron, 800 patron not so sure kung ring side na. 500 upperbox, 700 or 750 lowerbox. 100general ad.

Diba free seating sa Gen Ad so may tendency na mag standing din dun? Kamusta naman ang view sa Gen Ad? Hindi ba sobrang layo na or same lang din compare to Araneta Coliseum?

Congrats again Gilas! Hands down to kuya Marcus Douthit for playing despite of being hurt. Special mention also to Jeff Chan for those cold blooded threes, Gabe Norwood for a tremendous job of defending Jarvis Hayes and Japeth Aguilar for those rim rockin' dunks!

Now we hope that Qatar beats Chinese Taipei by more than 15 pts.

Laban Pilipinas !!

Is there a possibility that china ends up at no. 2 in the other group?

No longer a possibility.

Kazakstan lost to Korea and will lose most probably to Iran (on going; tambak na Kazakhs). And all of the Group of Death leaders, Iran, Korea, and China (in that order) didn't/won't lose to their other 2nd round joiners, Bahrain and India.

Only the foregoing scenarios can muddle up the standings (but predictably, it didn't/wo'nt happen)

Even if India beats Korea tonight, they will tie with China @ No.2, and still get the No. 2 slot by virtue of win-over-the-other tie breaker

copy that chief...so a gilas-pilipinas vs. china quarterfinals showdown looms if qatar doesn't win against taipei. but if qatar beats the taiwanese and gilas beats hongkong tonight, we top group e. thus, we face the kazaks in the quarterfinals? is that correct?

At this point, I think the Koreans are playing much better than the Chinese. We just don't know how serious Yi's injury is and whether he will definitely play come the quarterfinals. But I think the Chinese team without Yi maybe a fairly good match-up for Gilas. Medyo hindi kasing husay ang kanilang PG vs nun PG ng dating team nila.

One thing for sure is that it seems the road to a top 3 finish is easier if we end up number 1 in our group so let's pray that Qatar will win their game vs Taiwan (by a small margin). If that happens we could be facing Kazakhstan in the QF then S. Korea in the Semis. I like our chances vs the Kazakhs so a win then over South Korea assures us of 2nd place. A lost means we can possibly face China for the 3rd and last slot to qualify for Fiba World.

I rather face China and /or S. Korea in the later stages than a win or go home situation in the QF.

Yup. We can top our Group only and only if Qatar wins against Taipei by a margin below 16:

If Qatar beats Taipei by a margin of 1-7, Qatar stays at No.3

If Qatar beats Tapiei by a margin of 8-15 Qatar will be No. 2

If Qatar wins by 16 or more, Qatar becomes No.1

So you see, Qatar is in a tricky proposition and will be in a quandary. Sure it will be great getting into the quarters on a winning note. But No.2 would be dreadful, and the possibility of being No.1 is salivating. Medyo delikado lang pag nabitin sa lamang. Kung ako Qatar, I'll go for the win but by a small margin para lock sa No.3 at nanalo pa.

UPDATE: Qatar 29 Taipei 28

We got the No.1 in our Group, Qatar has beaten Taipei by 3 pts.

Thus, we avoided an early clash with Iran (the best scenario for us, may halong swerte tayo!)

But we still have to beat Hongkong tonight, and Kazakstan next.

We might face China or Taipei in the semis. (at least better than facing Iran)

this is good news for us...now it's time for gilas-pilipinas to do their job. i'm sure that with this development, gilas-pilipinas will come out of the starting block with all guns blazing against hongkong. di na nila palalampasin ito. they'll surely go for no. 1.

LABAN PILIPINAS!!!

Philippines now need to take care of the small fry HK to finalize their top seeding. Coach Chot might opt not to play injured players Marcus Douthit and De Ocampo or even Jayson Castro.

Expect Gary "El Granada" David to explode tonight. He'll probably log heavy minutes and Coach Chot will give the him green light to shoot all night long,

just as long as the team never falter on their defensive intensity and control the boards.

It's imperative that David fully gets his confidence back in preparation for who ever they face in the next round.

*Off topic: Taipei might have tank its last game against Qatar. Taipei is more familiar with China and their style of basketball compared to Kazakhstan.

They might have figured that will all their injuries, China is most vulnerable right now. Add to that the political history between the 2 nation and you have

an intriguing matchup in the next round.

Btw, In case the Philippines takes on China in next or later rounds, pinoy fans might chant , "Spratlys, Spratlys" hahaha...

I stand corrected...

It should have been "we might face Qatar or Korea in the semis, should we get past Kazakstan"

Gilas Pilipinas: This is gonna be a walk in the park.

Hong Kong: We Douthit!

The team played badly tonight getting beat up specially on the rebounding department. Less ball rotation and more on individual plays. No killer instinct at all. But nevertheless, a win is a win.

As for the quarterfinals, Kazakhstan is a very dangerous team. They almost beat Gilas during their exhibition game last month. Pero mas ok na silang kalaban kesa sa China. A much easier trip to the finals. Thank you Qatar! Haha!

Laban Pilipinas!!
