I've been using Western Union for the past 5 years. It has greatly improved from the time that banks or agents merely fax the slip to the WU head office and wait for 1-2 hours before they reply.

 

Today, the transaction is real-time and fast. Only one (1) official ID is required, unlike the previous requirement of 2. No fuss.

 

The flipside to WU? Transaction fees are higher. For instance, when I remitted 1.5K recently, LBC charged me Php 99. At Western Union, I will be charged with Php 126.

How much kaya to send From Korea to the Philippines through Western Union? Example..4k pesos..how much is the fee?

My prob with Western Union is you have to fill out their "Customer form" (not sure kung eto nga tawag dun) pag sa bagong branch ka nagwiwithdraw, kahit may data ka na sa ibang branch. Sana centralized na lang yung database nila para you don't have to fill out the form all the time. Kakapagod ding magsulat eh!

they're pretty picky on the bills you give for a dollar send out. I had to either go back to our house to change the bills or have it changed at the nearest money changer then buy the dollars from them (I chose the latter because I am tamad. kinda redundant... sounds like money laundering too). they don't accept those 96 series bills and those bills whose face is scratched. but I love Western Union because I hate filling out forms and they don't ask for much to be written down.

Pinakamahal na remittance service. SA abroad we tried to avoid sending Western union, ang baba pa ng exchange rates.

Sa Sta Lucia area, yung WU sa baba ng Goodlife mataas ang exchange rate. Bago ko pumunta dun, iniikot ko muna mga money changers sa lugar. Ang tumatalo lang sa exchange rate nila eh yung Emerald sa tapat lang nung WU branch na yun. Madalas mga 5 centavos lang diperensya sa rates nila . Pero minsan mas mataas sa WU kesa sa Emerald.

 

Ang complaint ko lang, may promo sila na may free P50 load every 10 transaction points. Niredeem ko yung load. Papadala daw within 24 hours. Mahigit 1 month na wala pa din yung load ko.
