External Hard Drives

:goatee: any chance to recover my files in my external hard drives which was soaked wet due to typhoon ondoy...if there is, how...and if ever is it still possible for me to be able to use it...thanks in advance... :goatee:

 

 

hopefully di mo pa nasaksak ung hard drive. kasi kung fully dry naman sya before mo ginamit ulit, it still should boot. You can then copy your files to another hard drive. pag di na ma-detect, well sorry na lng tlga.

Planning to buy Transcend 320GB, which cost around 3k+. It's much slimmer compared to my 160GB Seagate.

ok din sa akin ang freecom toughdrive.. kasi yung cable niya ay naka stick na sa external hd mismo..di gaya ng wd passport.. madali kasi lumuwag pag laging tagal/kabit ng cable.. sold my wd passport..

The thing with ext HDs, isang hulog lang good bye files na. Had a 500GB Seagate Free agent go, nahulog then wla na. Sa sobrang inis ko, binato ko sa sahig. Had to downgrade to 320G. Mahal eh.

mine is a Seagate 500Gb Freeagent Edition 2.0 USB External Hard Drive for my desktop computer and Seagate 320Gb Freeagent Go HDD for my laptop. The former is a bit bulky in size compare to the latter which fits nicely in pocket. Both works perfectly for my needs. Robust and reliable. :thumbsupsmiley:

better go sa mall and ask isa-isa mga shops na meron yung brand na gusto mo. di sila pare-parehas ng prices. Sayang din yun difference.

Nadala na ako sa external drives, masyado madali masira. Malaki na din naman capacity ng USB and there are DVD discs with double capacity. IMO external drive market are packrats... yung mahilig mag ipon with minimal file maintenance at the expense of greater risk to damage... kasi kung tutuusin hindi mo naman gagamitin lahat ng laman ng drive on a regular (hourly) basis... aminin, nakakatamad lang mag sync with more robust storage media.
