Apo Reef is in Mindoro. But the world-class Apo Island Diving paradise is in our place in Negros. When I was in grade school we used to have a beach house there. Then when my entire family decided to relocate to New York, the area was converted into a fish sanctuary maintained by Silliman University Marine Science Laboratory. I visited the place in 2019 and most of the resorts there are maintained by expats (Australians, French, Belgians, etc). They have divers arriving every day.

How are the waters in Mindoro?

I really like to learn diving. I actually tried it once in batangas. After a couple of hours of a crash course in the pool I was accompanied by the instructor on the shallow waters for a quick dive. The experience was awesome and it was beautiful down there! But I really am having a hardtime equalizing the pressure and my ears were hurting. Either my technique was wrong or I have a biological disorder.

Tried freediving once sa Mabini, Batangas. It was fun pero di na ko nakapag-follow through.
