Good ol' CDR-King WiFi repeaters are still chugging along after 2+ years of usage. My setup is ZyLink WiFi router -> CDR-King Smart WiFi AP & Repeater -> CDR-King WiFi AP & Repeater.

if you have a cable or DSL connection...routers from TP-LINK and even Asus are good bets plus they usually support open-source firmware.

If you have Wifi6 devices, mas maganda iupgrade yung router to Wifi6 ready router (AX).

Halos kasing bilis na naka LAN/Direct Connection. Of course, make sure na mabilis din ang internet 😄

how is the signal strength for the wifi6 routers?

I haven't bought one for myself pero nakapagtry na ako sa kaibigan ko

Signal strength is Great. pero depende rin sa lugar kung marami talaga pader.

Even sa 2nd floor nagana yung 5ghz (Which sa amin 'RT-A66U' may drop na sa signal and hirap din yung 2.4ghz)

Di ko pa fully nagagamit yung capability ng wifi6 routers pero mabilis yung transfer ng files between devices and less yung connection drop kapag nagstream ka ng large movies/series from PC to Mobile.

kung majority ng device/tech mo sa bahay ay wifi6 (AX)  capable. go.

Pero kung hindi, antay na lang since capable pa rin naman yung wifi5 (AC).

Gamit na lang siguro ng mesh o repeater to extend the range ng wifi.

Dati gamit ko Asus AC-1900, walang issue, malakas ang signal kahit sa labas ng bahay. Pero habang dumadami naka connected na devices, napansin ko na nag drop ng signal. Reboot ng router once a week. Pag may guest na nagcoconnect, hirap mag connect. Nagpalit ako ng Aus AX6000, nawala bigla ang connection problems ko. Kahit madami pa ang mag connect na guest. Wala ako AX compatible na devices na nakaconnect pero nung nawala ang disconnection problems ko, I feel it's worth the price.

Dapat ko bang i-bridge mode yun binigay na modem/wifi router na bigay ng internet service provider kung gusto ko mag-handle ng lahat IP routing ay yun bibilhin ko na third party na router?

Wala kasi ako tiwala sa modem/wifi router ng ISP at nakukulangan ako sa amount of control na afforded to you gamit ang device na yun.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Maraming salamat!

Allowed ba ng provider mo na gumamit ng personal equipment? Madali lang ba or walang inconvenience para sa yo ang magconfigure ng sarili equipt? If yes, I suggest palitan mo ang modem at router. Kasi madalas binibigay nila yung cheapest equipment. Minsan may extra charge pa ang provider para sa "rent" ng equip na bigay nila sa yo, kaya more reason na isoli mo yung bigay nila at bumili ka ng sarili mo. You will recoup yung cost in about a year, depende sa binili mo.

If di sila pumayag na gumamit ka ng sariling equipt, i-turn off mo ang wifi at gumamit ka ng sariling wifi. Gaya ng sabi ko cheapest ang bigay nila kay ang signal integrity eh mababa quality. Kung kukuha ka ng wifi na sarili, mas may control ka rin sa settings. Consider mo lang na may extra na device ka na kakain ng kuryente at cables ng iaayos.

Regarding bridging, I would only do it if kailangan mo ang extra range. Isa pa sa dapat mo consider is budget. Libre or mababa ang "rent" ng provider equipt vs. bibili ng sariling gamit.

Kung kasama ang modem sa papalitan mo, coordinate ka sa provider mo. Sila ang mag set up ng modem, bibigay mo lang ang details ng modem mo (model, MAC, etc). Kaya you need to ask yung provider kung allowed ba nila ang customer equipment na maconnect sa network nila. Kung hindi nila allowed, wala ka magagawa kundi gamitin ang modem nila.

Ask mo kung may rental fee na charge ang provider para sa equipment nila, kung meron at natapos mo na i-setup yung sarili mong equipment, pwede mo ibalik sa kanila yung provided nila para di ka ma charge ng rental fee.

you can disable yung wifi ng provider equipment at mag connect ka ng sariling wifi. Kung may sarili ka router, just set it up to auto at bahala na ang router mag fill ng details. Most routers will have a wizard/auto setup function, if hindi mo kaya magmanual setup. Kung sa receiving devices naman like TV, PC, etc, you just need the SSID (username) at password para maka connect ka. Ikaw ang mag set up ng username/password, the auto setup will help you.
