He has patellar tendon tear on both knees and he underwent knee operation with Steve Lombardo in Los Angeles, California. Six weeks is needed for his recovery and it is unlikely that he will miss the entire all-Filipino conference.

 

“There’s no assurance that he’ll be able to play after six weeks,” Jong Uichico said.“That’s why we’re looking a next conference”.

Anyway, wala talaga mararating ang present line-up ng BGK. Kuha na sana ng isang legit na center, kahit reliever lang for this conference. Kaya naman nila Mamaril, Menk at Crisano na mangblock-out kaya lang yung mismong rerebound ang wala e.

 

Naglaro na pala si Diego kaya lang hindi pa top form pero it's a good sign.

 

Si Holper, malambot talaga ang laro. Hindi ata naglaro si Pacana at Cabatu a.

May malaking trade daw na magaganap, kung saan tatlong koponan ang sangkot.

Bakit tatlong koponan? Dahil hindi puwede ang direktang trade. Kung nais ng isang sikat na koponan na makuha ang target na player, kinakailangan nitong dumaan sa isa pang koponan bago makuha ang serbisyo ng naturang player.

Plantsado na raw ang trade ng dalawang players at siguradong magugulat ang lahat kung bakit ipamimigay ang sikat na player.

Ang totoo, matagal nang plano ang pag-trade sa player, kumukuha lang ng magandang timing ang koponan.

Sana nga mapunta na si Danny Seigle sa kanila. Napuna ko lang, noong kasing mid to late 90's ang mga players na gusto kong mapunta sa Ginebra ay sina Meneses, Limpot, Duremdes, Menk, Hatfield at Adducul, napunta naman sila (with the exception of Duremdes of course) pero at the twilight of their careers na (this time with the exception of Menk, Adducul and Hatfield) looks like ganito pa din ang trend kay Seigle if ever. Also, sana kunin na lang nila ang services nila Bryan Gahol at Niño Gelig, pwedeng-pwede pa 2 'to sa PBA dahil bata pa naman sila, nagtataka nga ako nawala na si Gahol sa PBA, Gahol is a good post-up player and can shoot from the outside while si Gelig will bring scoring and inside incursions para sa kanila in lieu of the absence of Caguiao..

Napuna ko lang, nawalan na ng playing time si Cabatu dahil maganda ang laro lately ni Wilson, Wilson is holding his own against much taller opposing players sa 3 or 4 position kaya ayun madalas naka-upo si Cabatu..

Slumping Bulls enlist Kings' Holper

Red Bull beefed up its frontline yesterday with the acquisition of Fil-Am forward Mike Holper in a trade with Barangay Ginebra in a move the Photokina franchise hoped could help check its slide in the KFC PBA Philippine Cup.

 

The Bulls made the deal on the heels of a five-game slump sending the team all the way to the cellar in the all-Filipino tourney.

 

Holper, a San Diego State product and seventh pick in the 2005 PBA draft, became expendable at Ginebra on Rafi Reavis’ return from injury. Reavis suits up with the Kings as they take on the Coca-Cola Tigers tomorrow at the Olivares Center Gym in Parañaque.

 

The Bulls picked Holper from the Kings in exchange for an extra 2011 draft right Red Bull acquired in a separate trade with San Miguel involving Mick Pennisi.

 

Mike Hrabak, Carlo Sharma, Gabby Espinas and rookie Larry Rodriguez were left to man the Red Bull frontline on the departure of Pennisi, Paolo Bugia and Mark Andaya.

 

Meanwhile, the PBA Commissioner’s Office suspended Paolo Mendoza of Sta. Lucia for one game and fined P20,000 for his back-to-back flagrant fouls in their games against San Miguel and Ginebra.

 

Over at the Araneta Coliseum, San Miguel Beer and Air21 meet in a grudge match today, pending the final resolution of their controversial duel last Nov. 5.

 

The Beermen-Express match is set at 5 p.m. to be followed by the 7:30 p.m. game between Talk n Text and Sta. Lucia Realty.

 

The Realtors have split their last two games with Joseph Yeo erupting for a career high 38 points in their 100-95 upset of the Beermen last Wednesday.
