Mas gusto pa nga niyang ma retain yung coaching staff which baffles the minds of jaded Ginebra fans.

Its fire in the eyes, fire in the mind na nag t trigger ng ganun.

well sa akin you just can't blame the guy. dala na ng frustrations niya yun. anyone who tries his best but just can't seem to accomplish what he wants gets really frustrated...and when you are desperate, it just snaps. ganun ang nakita ko kay LA.

on caguioa's tirade against his teammates, mukhang below the belt naman. palagay ko naman lahat sila sumubok at nagtrabaho. kung di man "nakipagpalitan ng mukha" yung ibang players, palagay ko coaching staff na ang may diperensya. as i said before, the coaching staff doesn't seem to know how to motivate and bring out the best in the players. uulitin ko, ato and company are INCOMPETENT!!! unless and until the coaching staff is totally revamped, ginebra will not go places...put in the "Big J" and we will see a different ginebra team.

big j vs. yeng guiao...murahan sa basketball court (read: intensity, passion for the game, etc). i can't wait to see this...to all kids, go to sleep now.

basketball at its very best...indeed, two knowledgeable coaches who personify intensity and passion

Marlou Aquino on possible Robert Jaworski comeback with Ginebra: 'Naku, mas dadagundong ang mga coliseum'

Former Ginebra star Marlou Aquino pointed out that Robert Jaworski won several championships while coaching against the likes of Yeng Guiao, Chot Reyes, Norman Black and Tim Cone - coaches who still rule the pro league to this day. "'Yung style naman ng system namin noon, nasubukan naman namin against those coaches. Nag-champion pa nga kami, di ba?" he says. Jerome Ascano

AS soon as news of Robert Jaworski's possible return to the PBA circulated, one of his former players, Marlou Aquino, had just one piece of reminder for the present crop of Ginebra players.

Better shed your superstar mentality.

"Hindi naman sa nagbibigay ng advice sa mga players ngayon, kasi baka sasabihin nga tao, 'Iba noon, iba ngayon," said the 6-9 center out of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, who spent the best years of his career playing for Jaworski under the Ginebra banner.

Walang superstar-superstar," he added.

Asked how it would be like for Jaworski if he makes a PBA comeback amid news that he is in talks with San Miguel Corp. big boss Ramon S. Ang on a possible return to Ginebra, Aquino could not help but compare the style of Ginebra players during his time and now.

Kasi naglalaro kami noon para sa mga fans," said the 40-year-old big man.

'Yun kami noon, walang injury-injury. Laban kung laban," Aquino added.

The many-time All-Star also declared that Ginebra's brand of game back then was so physical that it would put the tough play of current PBA toughie Rain or Shine to shame.

"'Yung style ng laro namin nun talagang physical. 'Yun naman nakilala ang Ginebra eh. Parang Rain or Shine ngayon, kaya lang mas matindi pa," he said.

Aquino's longtime teammate, Bal David, said a lot of things are bound to change at Ginebra if and when Jaworski is asked to take over the reins again.

Aquino believes that Jaworski still has what it takes to lead a team to a championship, even if coaching and basketball technology have greatly evolved since the last time the 'Big J' coached 16 years ago.

Aquino also pointed out that Jaworski won several championships while coaching against the likes of Yeng Guiao, Chot Reyes, Norman Black and Tim Cone - coaches who still rule the pro league to this day.

"'Yung style naman ng system namin noon, nasubukan naman namin against those coaches. Nag-champion pa nga kami, di ba?" said Aquino.

And how it would be in the event the 'Big J' returns, he was asked.

"Naku, malaki 'yun. Maganda 'yun. Ang ganda nun, kaya sana matuloy," said Aquino.

"Sasabog talaga ang mga venue ngayon. Mas dadagundong ang mga coliseum," added the 1996 Rookie of the Year awardee.

The PBA great also has no doubt in his mind that a Jaworski-led Ginebra team can fill coliseums as big as the soon-to-open Philippine Arena, reputedly the biggest domed arena in the world with a capacity of 55,0000, in Bocaue, Bulacan.

"Oo naman. Eh noong nag-champion nga kami dati, nag-motorcade kami sa Metro Manila, para kaming Manny Pacquiao," he said.

Dont get me wrong...i love the BIG J...but im abit apprehensive on his coaching styles....before ok yun style nya eh...pero ngayon daming style na ng mga plays...among the batch of coaches now who went to war against big J..only tim cone black and yeng G are left...

Pero pag nde pwede si big J...yeng guiao, tim cone and norman black would fit ginebras system and players....but im still looking forward to jawo returning to the PBA....not only to Ginebra...

Napakalakas ng line-up ng Ginebra, tamang coach lang ang kailangan, ok na sana si Chua kaso dahil sa pulitika sa San Miguel Corp./management naalis s'ya bilang head coach at naging coach nila ang bopols na si Agustin, tapos si Sauler who steered DLSU in his first try, I don't know what's up with the players but they have to do something about it.

ok nman yung Freeman last game... wla lng talgang naging suporta masyado sa locals

For some reason or another nawala 'yung aggressiveness ni Japeth na nakita natin noong 1st conference, dati me slam dunk na at me medium range jumper at tres pa, ngayon parang pigil ang laro at maski ang jumper tila me pag-aaalinlangan pa

Freeman should be able to compliment yun twin towers....kung pagsabayin sila....tamang tama sa 3 ilagay si freeman....

pinagsasabay pa nila urbiztondo at tenorio!

Hayyy wala talaga ...its not the never say attitude ang problema....its the walang alam and paki attitude ng coaching staff and management....from the monster team with twice to beat advantage nun all filipino ..nde nakapsok sa championship...hanggang ngayon na pinilit si rodgers matagal bago pinalitan...nde na naman nakapsok...mas alam pa ng mga fans ang mga problema eh...INUTIL na coaching staff and management!!!!!

What I don't like about MC47 is that tweet s'ya ng tweet when there are times na me fault din s'ya that contributes to their lost

The management's decision turned out to be BAD:

1. Gabe Freeman has been measured a shade above 6'5" (the height limit for the next conference)

2. In crucial game/s, a strong import (Howell et. al.) can impose his might and strength with a local match-up

3. Freeman is talented and has the right attitude alright, but the team's cohesiveness was compromised

Sorry guys but I just lost respect and interest with Ginebra. It's been years since i supported this team. Players, coaching staff and management do not care about the fans anymore. I just hope Caguioa gets traded or any of the 3 expansion teams avail the services of Jaworski. Wherever they go, i'll go.

Sinabi mo pa sir, bingi ang management sa clamor ng fans, gone are the days na nagmamadali akong makauwi pag me laro ang Ginebra para lang mapanuod ko sa TV now iba na

Inutil talaga. If only they can implement the defense of Rain or Shine and the offense and passing of TNT.Kayang kaya ng team gawin yun.Barangay has all the materials.

aside from the incompetent coaches na napapansin natin, nakita ko din kagabi na wala na masyadong ginebra fans na nanonood. mas marami pang bakante na upuan kaysa sa nanonood. management should already be concerned about this and act fast. bihira na ngang sumigaw ng gi-ne-bra!! gi-ne-bra!!! o wala na kasing sisigaw...wala na yung 6th man ng ginebra. to ato and company, mahiya naman kayo...delicadeza na lang. tender your resignations. you guys can't even maximize all the talents that you have. si japeth binangko nung 2nd half nung RoS game...yung 4th overall pick nakaupo lang sa bangko...butas na nga yata yung shorts kakaupo. only #7 can bring out the best and fighting spirit of the players.

Has the Ginebra coaching job been offered to Tim Cone understudy Jeff Cariaso?

http://contents.spin.ph/image/San-Mig-Coffee-DPeralta-042414.jpg

WILL Jeff Cariaso be the next coach of Barangay Ginebra?

Possibly, says a source.

Word has reached Spin.ph on Thursday that Cariaso, a former player of multi-titled Tim Cone and now his chief understudy at San Mig, has been offered the Ginebra coaching job after the team's disappointing finish in the PBA Commissioner's Cup under Juno Sauler and Ato Agustin.

According to the source, the offer was made to Cariaso on Wednesday and negotiations are underway for his move to Ginebra from sister team San Mig.

"Nag-usap na sila kahapon. Negosasyon pa lang 'yan, pero mukhang siya talaga ang ina-eye," said the source. "Sa ngayon, wala pang formal deal kasi nag-uusap pa sa kontrata and all."

Spin.ph tried to contact the 15-year PBA veteran, but he has yet to respond to calls and text messages.

Team insiders said Cariaso already has the blessings of Cone, who coached the Fil-American guard during the glory years of the Alaska franchise and later took him in as one of his deputies when he moved to San Mig three years ago.

The news came at a time when Ginebra fans are salivating over the prospect of PBA legend Robert Jaworski returning to a team he helped turn into the most popular in the league behind the never-say-die spirit his teams personified in the eighties and early nineties.

Sources said the Ginebra offer to Jaworski has been on the table for a while now but there has been no movement in the negotiations since.

Another source said Jaworski, 68, is still in the US.

As it is, Sauler, who acted as 'active assistant' during Ginebra's failed campaign in the Commissioner's Cup, is already out of the running since he is set to focus on De La Salle's varsity squad, which he led to a UAAP championship last season.

If ever, it would be no surprise that the next Ginebra coach would come from San Mig, clearly the most successful among the three teams under the SMC umbrella.

While San Mig has won the last two league championships, Ginebra's title drought has now spanned six years while San Miguel has not won a title since the 2009 First Conference.

DISGRASYA!!! ano ba itong pinag-gagawa ng management sa team? i have nothing against cariaso as a player...but head coach of ginebra?
