numina
Sa game kagabi, tnt vs smb, ang trivia was si jong ang coach ng smb ng huling manalo ng all pinoy cup ang smb.... pero meron pang isang trivia sa mga plays... eto yung 3 guard at 2 bigs combo na ginamit ng gins as their bread and butter combi during jong's time as coach ng gins... ginamit ito sandali ng tnt pero hindi naging effective.... Mark, Jay jay, tubid, menk and mamaril/hatfield had mastered this play and yielded about 2 or 3 championships Quote Link to comment

numina
VETERAN Ginebra playmaker LA Tenorio sounded puzzled after hearing reports that the Gin Kings are reporting for practice next January 5 with a new coach at the helm.“I’m not in a position to tell the management kung ano ang gagawin (on the reported coaching change), pero kung yun ang desisyon ng management, we just have to follow,”Tenorio explained playing the triangle offense requires a lot of patience and difficulties in finding the right pieces to fit the complicated system.“It takes a lot of years (to understand the triangle), siguro mga isa or dalawang taon. Siyempre, kailangan din ng mga players na fit sa triangle,”He admitted that being in a long, losing stretch can be tough, especially now that he’s playing for the pro league’s most popular ball club."Mahirap eh, especially I’m one of the point guards of the team. Kaya nga ako ginawang team captain ni coach Jeff, para matulungan ko yung mga teammates kong maintindihan yung triangle. I hope may continuity pa rin (on what Cariaso has started) but if not, so be it kung sino (ang new coach),”For one, he said that the all-Filipino conference’s semifinalists - Alaska, Rain or Shine, San Miguel Beer and Talk 'N Text - have one thing in common.“Dun sa apat na naglaro sa semis, the common thing is matagal na sila magkakasama at magkakakilala,” he said“Yes, natalo ang Talk ’N Text sa San Miguel, pero kasi, monster lang talaga si June Mar (Fajardo), tapos, ang Rain or Shine naman, perfect example iyan ng matagal na magkakasama,”“Hindi ganun kadali mag-champion dahil kahit magagaling ang mga players, it’s more than just talent,” he said.“Siyempre, ayaw ko naman sabihin ng management na nakikialam ako. In fact, nagpapasalamat pa rin kami dahil sa mga players na dumating, pero sa mga (Ginebra) fans, pasensya lang muna talaga,” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- marketing move na naman ng managment- PASENSYA? alam ko biskwit yun hehehehe Quote Link to comment

mr_kindred23
IMHO...how about chot reyes...in terms of availabilty mukhang pwede sia...mahilig din toh magpahiya ng player pagdi-nasusunod mga play nia? kasi imposible si yeng g.. at kung si jawo naman eh sana nuon pa ..kasi papayag naman for sure si jawo na magcoach uli kaso for sure management ang may ayaw...kung sina franz or pido? si franz medyo matagal hinawakan ung air21 bago gumanda ung laro nila....eh mngt ng ginebra mukhang mabilisan ang gusto mangyari...i beginning to like jeff cariaso kaso bigla pinalitan naman... kung si ato ulit at di mapagchampion ang ginebra...for sure papalitan nanaman yan...at baka si al fransis chua...tapos paghindi nanamn si jeff ibabalik ulit? feel ko lang baka ganun mangyari sa ginebra...always the coach ang papalitan lagi .. so since coach ang papalitan why not try coach outside smb mngt ....chot reyes, franz or pido...? photographer
Caguioa can be a good coach in the future..................Ramon Anghttp://www.spin.ph/basketball/news/mark-caguioa-as-ginebra-playing-coach-pba-ramon-ang-basketball-he-will-be-good-coach Edited January 1, 2015 by photographer Quote Link to comment
*kalel*
Ginebra star Mark Caguioa can be a good coach in the future, says SMC big boss Ramon Ang.THERE is a high probability that Mark Caguioa will eventually become Ginebra coach. The man who succeeded Robert Jaworski as the face of the Ginebra franchise seemed destined to follow in the Big J's footsteps and assume the role as coach - if not playing coach - in the future.Even San Miguel Corp. big boss Ramon S. Ang feels the 35-year-old high-scoring guard has what it takes to take over the reins of the league's most popular ballclub in the future."Yes (Caguioa) can be a good coach in the future," was the response of Ang when asked by Spin.ph regarding the possibility on Thursday.Ginebra has put together a team with enough talent to win a championship but has seen a revolving door of coaches fall short of leading the crowd favorites to a first championship in seven years. On December 24, Spin.ph has reported that Jeffrey Cariaso will be replaced as Ginebra coach after two conferences with the triangle offense that has seen the team fail to go deep in the playoffs.Sources said Ginebra alternate governor Alfrancis Chua is expected to announce the re-appointment of Ato Agustin when the team convenes for its first practice of the year on January 5.Ang refused to comment when asked if Caguioa will find himself acting as Ginebra's playing coach anytime soon, but trying out the 'Spark' at this point may be a good move for a team that has few coaching options available.Former Ginebra assistant coach Bong Ramos said he believes Caguioa's leadership as a player can easily translate into success as a coach in the future."Nakikita mo naman yung attitude ni Mark eh. He hates losing. He personifies the Ginebra never-say-die spirit. Para nga siyang younger version talaga ni Jawo," said Ramos, who as a member of the Ginebra coaching staff in 2002 witnessed Caguioa's formative years in the league."Saka may killer's instinct si Mark. He knows Ginebra's run-and-gun (style) so well. Nakikita ko nga sa bench madalas isa siya sa mga umaalalay sa coaching staff saka maayos niya na nai-lead at na-i-ga-guide ang mga young players," he said.Sources said it was Ang himself who personally picked the coaches for both Purefoods (Tim Cone) and San Miguel Beer (Leo Austria), the two other SMC-owned teams currently enjoying success in the pro league."Nung nabakante si Tim Cone after he left Alaska, talagang pinakausap (sa management) ni Mr. Ang si Tim kung available siya. Naging mahaba negosasyon nun pero in the end, we were able to persuade Tim to take the job. Akala nga ng iba sinulot sa Alaska. Pero hindi," said the source."Si Leo naman was the top choice of Mr. Ang to take over the job from Biboy (Ravanes) and Todd Purves (who was the active consultant of San Miguel last season). May isa pang na-i-suggest ang management pero hindi nag work out," he added.Purefoods has won the league's last four championships including a grand slam under Cone while Austria has led the Beermen to the Philippine Cup Finals. The source said Ang's priority now is to find a coach who can translate the huge amount of talent at Ginebra into a championship."Ginebra na ang priority sa coaching improvement now," he said.© SnowBadua Another marketing strat....
