Bank interest rate is always lower than the inflation rate, it means that at the end of the year even your money earns interest your puchasing power is less because of higher inflation.

For me I rather invest in stocks, even it is risky the return is also high, just minimize your risk if your investing in stocks.

Thrift and Rural banks offer much higher rates but then...[/b][/color]

I could definitely agree doc...

As of now, Trust placements and Bancassurance products of banks are being preferred investments

by bank clients over the regular time deposits for the "better" yields they could give

banks with high interst rates be cautious kasi they need depositors. to be safe try to check the stability ng bank kahit mababa eh sure ka na di magsasara. although kng dami ka extra time deposit mo na lang. yung tipong pangmatagalan ang term.

i would suggest business ka na lang. mlaki risk but malaki din ang return. be sure you know the business. whatever business di mo dapat gagamitin yun for your day to day expenses.

Hirap talaga ngayon sa financial instruments.

Tama si silverapollo. Mas malaki ang returns ng entrepreneurship. Lalo na pag 50%+ ang contribution margins mo.

Pero importante rin na may savings ka. "Don't put your eggs in one basket."

Long-term time deposit with compounding interest ang safest intsrument. Pero mahirap tong laruin. Slow burn talaga. Better watch out for inflation too.

Pag mutual funds, hit or miss din. Parang stock market din kasi. Earnings depend on number of shares and share value.

I still have to investigate UITFs though.

in view of the volatility of the financial institution, what is the better alternative for money makers?

Either go short term now and wait to see where rates will go or if you have the long term horizon, get a five year corporate note or tier two from a reputable institution for the income tax exemption.
