TX
A passage from The Daily Tribune website reveals Eric Ramos is ready to play. Right now, the former editor of FHM (reputed to be the highest circulated magazine to date) is on the final stages of negotiations to head the Philippine version of the infamous Playboy magazine, which has been rippling through the rumor mill lately. It’s not yet official, says Eric, who’s keeping mum about the details until everything is ironed out. Eric Ramos resigned from Summit, the publisher of FHM, in 2004 after feeling bypassed of his editorial prerogative. He added that the publisher no longer wants controversial topics in the magazine. He started editing FHM since it was launched in 2000 (Source: mb.com.ph). Ramos, on the same year, put up his own magazine by the name PUMP but lasted for just a short period. He joined Maxim and later became the editor-in-chief. Failed to see the interview of Ramos on Jesssica Soho’s Hotseat program on You Tube, I opted to include this video instead which I assume recorded by his girlfriend. Hearing the bleepin word from him proves he’s undeniably an editor of adult mag. And one more thing, he should keep his day job. Quote Link to comment

streakshooter
i think it will be okay. considering that it has to pass the standards set by hugh hefner... problem is if they will allow the mag to tone down on nudity or exposures... Quote Link to comment

Guest Dobermaxx
Remember what happened when Playboy came out in Indonesia? I can see the exact same thing happening here. The religious groups are all going to go apeshit even if there isn't any frontal nudity. Just the mere idea of a Pinoy Playboy will be enough to get the church and the bible thumpers panties in a bunch. In an extreme case, I can see them filing criminal action against the publishers just the way they did in Indonesia. Good luck to them. Quote Link to comment
MODERATOR tamago Posted November 10, 2007 MODERATOR Share Posted November 10, 2007 ^ I agree. With the name, expect a lot of negative reactions from our ultra-conservative society. FHM is already pushing the envelope, Playboy Phils pa. Plus, no frontal nudity? As streakshooter said, Playboy will not be Playboy without frontal nudity. Good luck to Eric Ramos. If he can pull it off by lasting more than a year (unlike Pump), hats off to him. But now, I'm very skeptical Quote Link to comment
