just this morning, i'm having a problem with hard starting (electronic). battery seems ok since it cranks pretty well... sparkplug kaya? nalulunod? parang hirap mag-ignite eh... help naman. thanks. :)

it's a sparkplug thing. kapag lunod hindi magstart yan sa padyak. pansinin mo kapag naka high revolution ka kung parang sakal ang takbo mo, sparkplug yan.

thanks. i already changed the sparkplug the other day, ganon pa din. then i tried kaninang umaga, ok naman... but di ko sinabayan ng silinyador during start... haaaay... ano kaya problem? :wacko:

same problem ko yan with my honda xrm. I did some tinkering of my own: changed the sparkplugs, changed oil, tuning, recharge ng battery, etc. problem with my bike is I bought it already setup with dampers, hydraulics, and other whatnots. Basta, ang setup ay pangkarera so every 2 months I really have to change the sparkplugs, weekly align ng wheels and drive chain.

 

every once in a while that problem comes back: yun bang hindi magstart via electronic ignition but isang kick start lang ay go na. eto napansin ko: kapag unleaded or V-power ang gasoline ko madalas nangyayari ang cold start.

 

try checking the hoses baka may naipit lang or change your "menor" to a higher adjustment. also, check your manifold baka may butas (hope not, hirap neto)

same problem here..... parang every 3 weeks bumabalik ang sakit ng motor ko... wala namang butas ang manifold..... medyo mababa ang menor...pero hardstart talaga lalo na pag umaga ..... pag pinalitan ng sparkplug ok na .... pero after 3weeks bumblik ang sakit....medyo magastos kc dahil 4 sparkplugs ang pinapalitan every 3 weeks... bka may advice kayo .... 280 / pc pa ang sparkplug ... grabe ang gastos...

masmatindi pa pala sa iyo, every 3 weeks ka nagpapalit ng sparkplugs. I asked a friend for advice on this, sabi nya maghanap raw ako ng sparkplug na platinum and apat ang terminal (tama ba ang term ko?) instead of the usual 1 terminal; due to "burnout" of fuel kaya nagkakaroon ng carbon deposits. tried asking around for this kind of sparkplug in 3 motorcycle parts shop but no luck yet. anyone out there who knows where to buy this?

 

I just changed my oil this week. Waaah! nagmahal na ang usual castrol 4T oil (for extreme temperatures, basta may picture ng 400 cc motor sa label) from Php170 to Php218 :( ayun.. switch to the Castrol 4T Stop-and-Go oil (may picture ng scooter sa label). Mukhang bago ang oil na eto so bantay lang ako sa performance nya if better than the usual na nilalagay ko; heck, cheaper pa nga eto at Php144/liter :cool: .

ask ko lang.. ok lang ba lagyan ng unleaded gasoline ang motorcycle? ano ang mga bad effects nito as compared to premium? usual na nilalagay ko kasi ay premium and never unleaded. due to the recent price increase I'm considering using unleaded

 

grabe na price increase yan. dahil dyan may dagdag na Php100 ako per week sa gas expense ko :(

ganun ang gamit ko sa mga kotse ko..

ang kotse yun e... 2 sizes lang yata ang available nun.

sa bigbike kc mas maliit pa.. wala din ako mahanap nun.

about the unleaded gas thing. yesterday I drained my bike of premium and tried a half liter of unleaded then went around the subdivision to try out unleaded gas. grabe ang decrease in performance! power is not so good, so does acceleration (therefore not advisable when stopping infront of an intersection traffic light), mahina sa pagakyat, etc. after 3 rounds around the subdivision i returned home and again drained my gas tank and burned off the rest of the unleaded gas. added premium again then went around the subdivision. pansin ko parang sakal pa rin ang acceleration so returned home and inspected the bike.

 

turns out may carbon deposit agad sa carburator. eh kakatune up ko lang within the week.

sir, technically lahat ng gasolina natin unleaded na. yung "unleaded", "premium", "velocity", "silver", "gold", "blaze" eh sa octane rating at additives nagkakatalo pero lahat sila wala ng lead content. usually pag commuter bike, 93 octane is more than enough. no need to spend (burn) the extra cash for more fancier fuels unless you're racing or extracting the max performance of your engine (but that would require a different tuning from a stock bike obviously). so unleaded is a safe way to go. just ask a local mechanic if you're still skeptical.

talagang hihina yan sir kasi bumaba ang octane. Ang pro lang talaga sa mga lower octanes is mas matipid, pero kailangan mong pigain ng mas malalim ang silinyador (same with cars). Sa mga engine na mababa ang displacement mas malakas ang chances ng "knocking" lalo na pag magaan ang paa/kamay mo sa gas.

 

opinion ko lang sa hardstarting sa morning, unang i-check is battery, pag ok naman ang boltahe dun ka naman sa spark plug. Pag nilinis mo na yung spark plug at ganun pa din, linis ng valves/carb, check mo din gap ng tip ng spark plug baka masyadong hiwalay or dikit. Karaniwan kasi pag hardstarting baka timing na ng engine. Opinion lang po mga boss. :D

As far as i know wala pang bosch "super four " for bikes.. I recommend you use ngk platinum(php300+) or iridium(php750) for your bikes and if your budget permits try to change your high tension(splitfire) wire from single wire to 2, or 3 wires(php500-750).. mas maganda ang performance ang gas consumption basta ayos ang tune up.. tama ang air/fuel mixture para mas maganda fuel consumption. ganyan setup ko sa mga motor ko except for the big bike.. low end na spark plug lang gamit ko kasi mahal... hehehehe about engine oils try ester base motul.. maganda performance sa wave, z200, ZZR400 ko to.. silkolene for the 2 stroke kmx..

thanks for that.. nagtingin ako kung saan saan yun pala wala. oh well.. :blush: sayang sa ACE hardware may promo sila last month on sparkplugs, Denso NGK at Php88.00! should have bought 10. nagtingin ako kanina wala na, UBOS! next change oil ko gonna use your recommendation.. motul..

 

about sa cold start ng motor, I just came from my friendly neighborhood (plug ko lang na spiderman 3 this coming tuesday!) motorcycle mechanic. pinalitan something that sounds like "stependor" or something. sensya na I'm still learning about my motorcycle. basta.. sa XRM it's located at the left lower side, beside the clutch.

 

ayun, pagkapalit nawala ang problem with my electronic ignition.

 

nga pala.. sabi ng mechanic one reason also for cold starting is the timing of the engine. meron nga siyang ginamit na term that I'm not familiar with.. race cap/cab? I got my bike 2nd hand kasi, already setup. turns out naka "racing" configuration ang timing ng bike ko all this time. malaki raw ang gap ng timing bolts (or something like that :unsure: ). instead of a tune-up he tuned it down (raw) para masmatipid sa gas.

 

for every visit I make at the motorcycle shop nadadagdagan ang kaalaman ko sa motorcycles :thumbsupsmiley:
