Cap™
Jason castro a two-time FIBA Asia Mythical Five member couldn't be overrated man. If there was a Gilas guy who's overrated, that's Gary David. Shot a good series back with Powerade and then went poof. Prolly because he's old now as well. Quote Link to comment

Eddy Syet
two games in and Tristan Thompson shows that he's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too overpaid. I can't believe the Cavs are paying $80M for THAT. Edited October 29, 2015 by Eddy Syet Quote Link to comment
Boss James
Tristan Thompson. Getting Max Contract the only thing he does is only getting Offensive Rebounds. Not a GOOD defensive player. Haist! Sayang talaga. Hahaha! Quote Link to comment

Guiness
i just stumbled upon this player who i read is getting 70 million over five years. Khris Middleton of the bucks. Do you think he is worth this much money? I think guys like Tristan Thompson are pretty common in players being paid this much money. It's not just Tristan Thompson theres a player on each team getting this much money, the question is, are they worth the money being paid to them? or is it just good strategy on the player's part to negotiate that type of amount because down the road they don't know how good they will still be, getting injured or having a bad season in the future. Each team has their players' salary listed so you can find out how much money the player on that team is being paid. The only advantage a team has over the player is if the player has a guaranteed contract each season. Regardless if the player gets injured and doesn't play if he has a guaranteed contract he still gets paid. A non guaranteed contract like Anderson Varejao is an advantage for the team. Because if he gets injured and doesn't play, he doesn't get paid. this is the link for all nba teams' player salarieshttp://en.hispanosnba.com/salaries/teams/ Quote Link to comment

Khris Middleton's contract is a reward for carrying the lifeless offense of the Bucks last season. He was the Bucks' best offensive player last season bar none. He even highlighted his performance last year with two game-winners. He also plays good defense. So yeah, it might be a little high in the eyes of some but he's worth it. He is "best" at something in his team. Tristan Thompson's salary however is not normal. Why? I'll ask explain by asking this question: What do Greg Monroe, DeMarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Joakim Noah, Tyson Chandler, Serge Ibaka, Derrick Favors, Kenneth Faried, Zach Randolph, Pau Gasol, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tim Duncan, Jonas Valanciunas, & Andre Drummond have in common? Yep, they're great big men in the NBA who are receiving less money than TT right now. I'll forget about the fact that TT's borderline franchise player salary is his and he's not even among his team's Top 3 talents. Quote Link to comment

Even LeBron might've hated how Rich Paul destroyed the Cavs Quote Link to comment
Guiness
I guess he's got a good agent. oh wait, he has the same sports agent as Lebron that's how they were able to pull off that deal. I checked out Greg Monroe, mathematically he is getting paid more than Thompson. Monroe's contract is smart because he signed up 3 years, the last year being a player option where he can opt out and become a free agent and negotiate for more money. Thompson signed a 5 year guaranteed contract but no player option. I think, he knows this is the only time he will be able to land fat contract like this because he can just coast and play safe and not put up big numbers to increase his value since he has to nothing to prove to the team that he is valuable. I think he just did this to get paid, now he can prove my theory wrong by playing to what he is being paid and put up those stats he did in the playoffs. Or he'll prove my theory right that he just wanted to get a nice payday and just go through the motions. Kind of what Bynum did. The only difference between him and Greg Monroe is, Greg Monroe is putting up good numbers and playing hard, i just saw him play last night. That guy can play. Don't include Karl Anthony -Towns, because he is a rookie and rookies are usually signed for 5-8 mil per year for 5 years i think. not sure about the rookie salaries. That's why at they try to put up good numbers so they can get better deals after their rookie contracts expire As for Middleton. I would have to check his stats at the end of the season if he puts the same stats as last year or be better this season. It's a long season anyway. So in summary, i also think Tristan Thompson is an overrated player. I looked at Jordan Clarkson's salary and he's being paid 800+ for this year and a qualifying offer in year 2. Hopefully he can put up numbers to increase his value and get interest from other teams or he has the choice of re-signing for the lakers. It all depends who gives him a better deal. Jordan Clarkson $845,059 $1,180,431 Edited October 29, 2015 by hahnz Quote Link to comment
Cap™
oh wait, he has the same sports agent as Lebron that's how they were able to pull off that deal. yes but LeBron did mention that he wasn't really happy about this hostage drama. I hate Rich Paul for doing this for the second straight season. He did this too with Phoenix last year, thus the Plan B in Isaiah Thomas, which eventually destroyed what was a promising core (not to mention a chance to get that Laker pick next season, I think). Moreover, Phoenix is in a total flux. Hayayay. All I can say right now is pwede namang i-amnesty si TT. Or a stretch provision a la Josh Smith. However Cleveland intends to k*ll his live contract, they better do so soon. Quote Link to comment
Guiness
did you know Thompson was initially asking for 94M from the cavs? Cavs didn't take the bait so he waited if any team was going to make an offer. The plan backfired because he waited and no team was willing to offer that kind of a deal on a player who was brilliant but was still to raw for them to give up that kind of money and gamble on an unproven player. The cavs were only willing to pay him 80M for 5 years but ended up with 82M. Of course the cavs are gambling by signing him for 5 years and will be keen on how the performs. If he ends up being a bust, the cavs can trade him, but this can also be a problem for them if no team would be willing to trade for him. I'm guessing he has about 2-3 years to prove he was worth the 82 mil until the cavs decide he's not worth it. Quote Link to comment
Cap™
sorry but I don't see "potential" for someone who's already a five-year vet. Hell, he had more headway than Andrew Bennett. Amnesty the mofo if he couldn't produce that money's worth by next season Quote Link to comment
Guiness
like i said, the cavs are gambling here. the gamble could pay off or it can't thats the way the business of professional basketball is. If he doesn't pan out they could salvage the deal by trading him and get some assets back. But right now its too soon, let's wait on what the cavs do if they think he is worth the money they are paying him. Quote Link to comment
