Julianda
I'm surprised sex education isn't being taught today to kids. They are the ones who will most benefit from this course. Perhaps teenage pregnancies would diminish if kids knew more about the human procreation process. I guess the Catholic Church has gotten more closed minded since those days. This is true. You can’t expect from any Catholic school to include sex education as part of their curriculum; let alone integration of modules on any relevant course of study. Sex Education for all, except in Catholic schools Sex education plan sparks furious debate Quote Link to comment

Sex Education for all, except in Catholic schools Sex education plan sparks furious debateFunny thing is I studied at La Salle, a Catholic school where sex education was taught by the La Salle Brothers. My professor was from Lebanon and he was all business. It's preferable to learn about the birds and the bees from responsible teachers than to learn it by experimenting with it or by listening to uneducated people who know nothing about the procreation process. Back then, it was acceptable for Catholic schools to teach sex education. But then, of course, it was likewise acceptable for Catholic schools to impose corporal punishment which is banned in schools today. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I read it from the previous page that it was being taught before in La Salle. Been handling some students from this school (LSG) couple of years ago but I didn’t notice any topic of sex education being incorporated in any part of their related lessons - until I saw this thread few days ago... FleurDeLune
Do you think Sex Education can be included in the school curriculum? Any more thoughts? Quote Link to comment
Edmund Dantes
Do you think Sex Education can be included in the school curriculum? Any more thoughts? Of course it can. You can have a separate subject for it. Tapos! Wala pang HS diploma buntis na Quote Link to comment
ilukaok
this is a never ending topic for most.however, this is nothing but business in every aspect...... politicians -- majority of them if not all have concubines.... even the female species have their boy toys.... -- kids are future voters, they are source of budget allocations....the more poor there are, the more source of kickbacks and corruptions churches ---- the more kids/people there are, the more source for collection and business of marriage, baptism, death masses or whatever they could think of as source of money. cops and law enforcers --- a lot of them have side ladies they support. ask their wives.... jeepney and taxi drivers --- they all have side ladies as well....ask the bars around the corners....even in the slum areas...there are bars that squatters go to..... hehehe...sex education....they say the more the merrier..... live and learn..... mirana123
Feel ko dapat namumulat ang kabataan diyan. Not to provoke them to have sex but warn them about the consequences of such acts Quote Link to comment
camus
Sex Ed should be mandatory. Raising a kid costs money. Who's gona pay, the church? Quote Link to comment
Edmund Dantes
Yan kasi ang hirap sa bansa natin, wala tayong separation of church and state sa totoo lang. Di idea of separation of church and state is that...... Religion has its own set of principles, the state has its own set of rules. The state exists in the Physical realm and thus must make decisions based on what can be interpreted in its most literal sense (i.e. laws). Religion on the other hand doesn't. It exists in the metaphysical realm where it bases its decision on things that are not necessarily scientific nor literal.... (i.e. metaphors of the bible which can have many interpretations. Moreover, it has been proven that societies without clear separation of church and state are more tyrnanical. i.e. Spanish-era philippines, or some countries in the middle east. So what you do therefore is separate both sectors! You let the state do its own thing without interference from any religion, and you let religion have its place where people can choose to embrace it or not. As respect for the separation, religious sectors enjoy tax exemption. I doubt if they would though kasi nawalan na sila ng miyembro Quote Link to comment
