Not sure if this is the right thread, but has anyone availed of the services of an "employment coach" or interviewed people who have undergone coaching?

Just finished interviewing four people this morning and another one this afternoon, and I was surprised that 2 of the 5 candidates admitted to having "coaching sessions" from this employment coach. These people really caught me off-guard with impressive answers so I investigated on how they prepared for their interviews.

Apparently, the "coach" offers a package that includes CV writing, mock interviews, negotiations. I requested for the number from the 2 applicants, and they had different coaches. Or maybe different numbers of the same person? Haha!

I plan to contact this coach and ask about the inner workings. But also I feel like I wanted to congratulate him on coaching the candidates well.

What do you guys think? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yung risk dyan is the coach may help you land the job but you run the risk of overselling yourself. If you're an imposter, your employer will find out and baka di ka maregularize. But if the coaching helps you to sell yourself honestly, then by all means, go for it.

Up! Head of HR here. Let me know if you have any HR-related concerns and I'll try my best to answer. 😊

Sir I need advice. How do HR perform background checks. Natanggal ako sa dati kong trabaho. I'm unemployed for 4 months na. OK lang ba ibahin ko yung date of termination ko from my previous job? Currently ginagawa ko is kunyare 2 months pa lng ako wlang work. Ang sabi sa akin ng ibang mga ka-work ko dati, hindi naman daw nagbbackgound check pag pa staff lang. Totoo po ba?

Hello! Pag background checks, depende yan sa hinahanap ng current employer. Ang standard is verification of employment and tenure mo sa previous employer/s tapos feedback from either HR or past supervisor kung may disciplinary issues and/or grievances, etc.

Better if you declare your actual dates of employment para maayos. Hindi totoo na lahat ng staff level ay hindi binabackground check. May mga companies (depending on the industry) na ginagawa pa rin ito, while the rest hindi na. Just to be safe, make sure to declare your actual work dates. Ano bang reason sa termination mo?
