I'm also a big fan, but on the contrary I enjoyed the movie.

I watched it with my Bossing and she have no idea whatsoever of the story. Basta there are giants and spiderman squad daw.

Pero she really enjoyed it daw and can't wait for the part 2 this September.

I guess disappointing sya sa mga Otaku, pero at least non-fan were able to appreciate it.

Masyado magiging mahaba ang storya pag nag stick to original materials yun.

wala kang like button sir alex kaya +1 na lang. ;) :P

totally agree.

that is a great point. the movie has to cater to people who are seeing it for the first time.

and the material is still in progress.

Watched attack on titans twice (first in cinema, 2nd download).. at first isa rin ako s mga nadisappont because of the changes s storyline but watching it the 2nd time nagandahan naman ako.. the action with blood and gore is there.. i guess kailangan lng maging open s changes.. at least my twist na s story.. hahaa..

Ganda pa ni mikasa

And looking at the preview of the 2nd part during mid-credits (kaya ako nagdownload kc namiss ko ito s sine), mukhang mas magiging maaction ung 2nd part kaya naeexcite nako.. hahahaa..

3 days to k*ll.Kevin costed

I had little to zero hope for this film at the start.I just watched it kasi my mom bought it as a dvd.

Luc besson film (correct my spelling.too lazy to google)

Surprisingly a meaningful film.a fun film to watch.the message is clear and the lesson is priceless.

Not to spoil anything but theme is like mentos. Hard outside but soft inside

Must watch.substance over effects.

I loved the movie!

Maze Runner The Scorch Trial - 8/10

Story - 7/10
Action - 9/10
SFX - 10/10

Went to see this movie last weekend with low expectation since sakto lng naman part 1 but got surprized na mas maganda pala ung part 2.

Mas madaming action and suspense at habulan this time.

Maganda rin ung special effects and kung pano nila ginawa ung dystopian city.

As for the story, mejo bitin, parang kulang sa explanation sa mga events pero enough na rin to get me interested kaya binasa ko ung summary ng book and mukhang madami cla nabago sa story so fans ng book possible na madisappoint because of the changes buti nalng summary lng binasa ko.. hehehee..

Looking forward on the next and last movie since bitin pa din. Yun nga lng sa 2017 pa. tsk.

I recommend you watch HENERAL LUNA before it gets pulled out from cinemas to give way to foreign films and other 'mainstream' movies. It's just everything from the cinematography, scoring, production, editing, costumes to the portrayal of actors. Please do find time to watch this film. It's worth it. 50% discount to students whether you are a college undergrad or a PhD student. Just bring a valid school ID. Watch it. PH cinema needs more movies like this.

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn

A web series of episodes compiled into a whole film. Created as a stepping stone for a Halo film. I was impressed with the special effects for a web series with limited budget. The film was portrayed in such a way that reminded me of shows like Battlestar Galactica mixed a little bit of Maze Runner and After Earth being it had a futuristic setting.

Attack on Titans 2: At Worlds End - 7/10

Story - 6/10
Action - 7/10
SFX - 7/10
Characters - 3/10

After waiting for a month, napalabas agad ang part 2 of attack on titans and after watching it, I am not sure if I could recommend this lalo na sa mga fans ng anime. Although I think I understand the reason of the producer of this movie why they changed the story. They have some clips in the movie explaining what is the origin of the titans na hindi naexplain sa anime which also link sa real world. They also have closure sa movie para d na kailangan ng part 3 unlike sa anime na bitin na bitin tayo. This might work for those na hindi pa napapanood ang anime.

Here are things I don't like in the movie:
1. Yung recap nila ng part 1. D ko nagets baket kailangan nila recap ung part 1 e kakapanood lng natin a few weeks ago.

To sum up, this might again disappoint the fans of the anime. For me, acceptable na ung movie since d na rin ako nagexpect na maganda tlaga and gus2 ko lng naman mapanood tlaga c Mikasa...
Again, this might work for those na hindi naman napanood ung anime so I would suggest na panoorin muna ung movie before manood ung anime or skip nalng at all ung movie and see the anime instead.

The Artist (2011)

I only watched this Academy Awards Best Picture winner last night because I had two perfect excuses to not watch it. First, it's a silent movie and second, it's in black and white.

It turned out that these two excuses would have been two of my biggest reasons ever to almost make what would have been one of the biggest mistakes I could ever do as a movie addict - to not watch it! Why? The movie was brilliant!

I just downloaded it out of curiosity and before I played it, I told myself that I would just watch how it starts and skip to how it will end. When the movie started playing, I completely forgot about clicking the 'stop' button. I can't believe that I was actually enjoying it!

The story, the emotions, everything was captured in this silent film about a romance that bloomed in 1920's Hollywood in the advent of the "talkies" movies. It was silent alright but the emotions were raw and were delivered in loud, booming voices by its brilliant stars in Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo.

Watch it if you haven't already!

A Rappler.com review on Felix Manalo Biopic

‘Felix Manalo’ Review: Epic blunder

http://www.rappler.com/entertainment/movies/108662-felix-manalo-review-dennis-trillo-iglesia-ni-cristo-inc-movie?utm_content=buffer91b89&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Felix Manalo is quite the unwieldy pedestal for such a beloved icon. The film is tight-fisted in its desire to sanctify its subject. It provides no opportunities for discourse except for the immense one its glamorized crafting suggests.

If the purpose of the film is to enlighten, then it has failed miserably because it only persists to reinforce an image that is far too rosy and romanticized to be taken with the same seriousness one affords any other biopic with more balanced perspectives.

If the purpose however is to stir a myth out of a man’s life, then the film only succeeds partially, because it only aspires to be understood and celebrated by that section of society where doubt, suspicion and curiosity are frowned upon.

Di ko pa napapanood itong movie na ito ha so I wont pass too much judgement

IMO, Heneral Luna laid down the blueprint on how to make a successful biopic movie. MAKE THE MAIN CHARACTER AS HUMAN AS POSSIBLE.

Masyadong immaculate at glamorized.

Yung batang Manny Pacquiao kasi dun talagang gusgusin. Pasaway din minsan. Nagsisinungaling sa matatanda. Minsan naglalayas din. At napapabisyo.

Tingin ko wala rin masyadong artistic liberties ang director na ito because he has to please the INC.

The bad review plus the bad publicity it has right now? I really doubt

Capsule Review on SPECTRE

The Good

- Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever.

- Its a well shot movie

- Bastista, though not having any dialogue almost was cool

- Monica Belluci is still hot at 50..... she is barely in the movie though

- Its also god to see that the people behind bond (i.e. Q, M, and Moneypenny) have more involvement in the action scenes bond is in

- The exploding Omega and the Aston Martin DB10 were so cool

- Action scenes were great, even better than skyfall

The Bad

- Its kinda clunky on the story department, the plot feels borrowed from Mission Impossible Rouge Nation

- I enjoyed the first hour, but it felt dragging by the second half of the film, it has a problem with pacing

- The villain is underused, which is such a shame because the actor was good, I hope he was given more screen time

All in all, this is not the best Daniel Craig outing as bond. It is not better than Casino Royale, or Skyfall (my favorite), but its loads better than Quantum of Solace. But Quantum wasn't a bad movie either so that is saying a lot. Its worth the ticket and popcorn though it is not the best.

Creed

Many of you probably don't care too much about this movie. I know like me, many of you are still wanting to see star wars again for the third time. But for those of you who were avid fans of the Rocky series, this is a must see. It is this years sleeper hit. When I first read that they were making a Rocky Spinoff, I had my doubts too. I thought it was just another attempt to milk the franchise, Stallone just couldn't let this one go, and it will be a disaster. But it was surprisingly good. It is as good if not better than the original Rocky. I was also surprised to learn that Rocky neither wrote or directed this.

So Creed follows the story of Apollo Creed's (Rocky's nemesis-turned-best-friend) illigitimate son Adonis. Adonis is raised by Apollo's wife Mary Anne. He does seem to have a nice life and career ahead of him, except that fighting is his real passion. After deciding to fight full-time, he tracks down Rocky and convinces him to be his trainer. Reluctantly Rocky agrees and from then on, it just becomes a surrogate father and son story.

Make no mistake about it, this is not a Rocky movie at all. Rocky is not at the center of the story here. He appears as a supporting character. Michael B Jordan is forgiven for Fant4stic! He redeems himself with this movie. He just had so much charisma and I have no doubt he will carry the torch of the series just fine. Moreover, he is a very talented actor. Stallone also gives the best performance in recent years, and I do believe he should get an oscar for this. What really works well for this movie is the good chemistry between Stallone and Jordan. Stallone never tried to outshine the movies main star and you can tell that they just elevate each other's performance. I originally thought that Rocky was gonna be the Hero of Adonis here, but as it turned out, Adonis became Rocky's hero. This is basically a story of a man who is searching for his place in the world, and another man who is basically running out of things to live for. Together they would take the journey and find family in each other. And it really really works in a non-cheesey way. They even have this father-and-son fight moment where they exchange hurtful words.

There aren't many fights in this movie, but when they do they are so much fun to watch. Like there is this one fight here that was shot using one very long take. The camera just moves around the fighters the corners and the crowd in one single take for 2 rounds. The fights are as gritty and realistic as they get. But keep your expectations in check, its the drama that sells this.

I love the director of this. He is to watch out for, this is his sophomore film, I am just so looking forward to his future projects

Surprising no one has posted a review about the new Star Wars so let me take the initiative

MOVIE TITLE: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Story: 8/10

- Umpisa pa lang ng movie, title sequence pa lang, matutuwa na ang mga loyal fans ng star wars because JJ opted to be faithful to the original series showing the title and narrative EXACTLY the same on how Lucas presents the original 6. For loyal fans, seeing han solo and chewbacca is already a treat, much more making them enact on awesome action scenes and of course - funny situations and dialogues. Incorporating the new characters to the classic ones was well orchestrated and treated. Although it is heavily reliant on the original Trilogy, specially the unfolding of the story sequences, it created a very good backdrop and foundation for the upcoming 2 films (this is a planned trilogy). Leaving questions and cliffhangers also made the audience crave for more for episode VIII and IX. This is the first attempt to make a female lead character with a force (and possibly become a jedi) so this is really still a new thing for SW. (Warning spoilers) The death of han solo is unexpected but beautifully executed, I would have wanted na nagkita pa din sila ni Luke, but who knows what will happen?

Action Scenes: 10/10

- The best action scenes in all star wars movies (with the exemption of the battle bet. the sith lord and yoda). Kylo Ren and Ray's light saber duel is not that memorable compared to Luke vs DV but given na hindi pa naman jedi si Ray at wala pang alam masyado sa force, its forgivable. Im pretty sure na yung future showdowns nila sa next movies will be awesome. The space battles are too good for me, its like watching star trek and guardians of the galaxy. The special effects are given to be more good because of better technology, but I wish and would prefer na nilagyan ng visual effects yung moments na nakakaramdam sila or gumagamit ng force. Kung first time mo manuod ng star wars, medyo ma ko confuse ka dun sa mga eksenang gumagamit sila ng force at telepathy.
Sounds and Musical Score: 8/10
- Classic star wars music from the opening title sequence until the final battle. I specially like the musical scores during moments where they are using the force, sometimes eerie and disturbing.
Memorable Characters:
- BB8 (the main character for me in this movie is this droid, and he is very cute and charming)
- Finn (the black dude na dating storm trooper na bumaligtad)
- Ray (because she is too mysterious)
- Han Solo (His death)
Memorable Scenes:
- The entrance of Han Solo and Chewbacca (epic!)
- The removal of storm trooper helmet (1st time to do it)
- The old machine references from previous movies sa wasteland
- The arial camera shot during the explosion of the oscillators (JJ Abrams signature big explosion scenes)
- Kylo Ren's hand being cut during light saber battle - a SW tradition
- And Finally, Luke Skywalkers appearance.
OVERALL VERDICT: 9/10
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT 2 MOVIES!
THE FORCE IS ALIVE!!!

The Martian

Story/Plot: 8/10

- Cast Away in Mars with a lot of science to save Matt Damon's god damn ass again.

Cast: 10/10

- Cast is a big win where the cast has good chemistry and humor with each other. Good nods to Jessica Chastain, Jeff Bridges, Sean Bean, Kristen Wiig, The black guy from 12 years a slave, the black guy from Community and Matt Damon

Music: 10/10

- Turn the beat around, ABBA and Bowie gets the cake, but I still refuse to turn the beat around.

Cinematography: 7/10

- Good part of film is where the montage with the Starman song. Single scene which makes it one of the best of 2015.

Overall: A solid 8.8 for me.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

The Big Short

Story: 5/10

- A true to life story about America's financial crisis in 2008. This one decided to stick with the ones who made shitloads of money on betting against their own society. The story was really so-so, but the real thing that made it quite good to watch is how it is presented. The movie is quite postmodern in delivering the explanation in CDOs, investments and stuff. Fav part is the back story of Mr. Bale with his glass eye, another is when Chef Bourdain tries to explain what a CDO is. Just a 5 for it was not remarkable but the script was spot on.

Cast:10/10

- One hell of a cast here. We've got Batman, Ryan Hotling, Mr. Jolie and Michael Scott. Christian Bale is awesome in every movie he is in. Gosling is just drop dead Gorgeous, fav movie of is Drive. Steve Carell is changing . One special thing is Brad his small roll quite changes the lives of characters.

Music: 4/10

- Not quite the highlight of the film. So just to be modest a 4 or so.

Cinematography: 9/10

- Great cuts and transitions in explaining finance stuff, greatly compasses post modern films, Not Tarantino level so just a 9.

Overall: 7/10

Quite good, but I might not watch again. The cast is good can be cast of a new batman movie.

Batman................. Bale

Robin....................Gosling

Joker......................Carell

Gordon...................Pitt

hahaha just for fun

till next time

Dope (2015)

dope2.jpg?w=670&h=377&crop=1

Plot/story : 8/10

- Its about a teenage black guy who was very into nerd stuff like anime, video games and stuff with his friends. Things get messed up while he was trying to pursue a crush he has. The movie is great with every interconnecting to a much bigger problem. Like a series of events leading to a huge explosion. Great movie here one of my favs this year. FOR REALS.

Cast: 6/10

A bunch of unknown actors. I can only recall the one was the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and the one from Grand Budapest Hotel. The main cast consists of minorities in the US of A. Funny cast especially the main character he was exceptional.

Music 10/10

The music mostly consists 90s hiphop and rap tracks.Which was very awesome, I never thought rap music was good until viewing this film. Most remarkable songs was The World is Yours by Nas.

Cinematography:10/10

The scene where the heroes entered the house of the dealer was sick. With the main conflict in toe with the background song by Nas and there was a very ill scene. The movie is DOPE when iI heard the world is yours.

Overall: 8.5 DOPE movies, watch it
