The first Mustang rolled off the factory in Spring 1964. All Mustang '64 - '69 are extremely popular to classic car collector, which would surely buy unrestored Mustang as much as $30,000, making it rare to find a road worthy ones. All the VIN (Veh. Identification Numbers) of '64-'69 Mustangs owners, are registered to Ford making the value of restored classics (and prevent forgery) as worthy investment. What year is your Firebird and what body style? If memory serves me right, there were no mustangs in the 50's. I believe the first mustang came out in 65<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Close. 1964.
