Meron na pong mga convertible bagpack to shoulder bags ngayon,, some as big as 18+" and can accomodate multiple laptops or laptop + books combination. Very expensive though

Back when I was in college, I preferred the over the shoulder bag because of the easy access to everything: just pull out the laptop and work.

 

But now that I move around less moment to moment, the backpack is better for comfort and posture, especially when it's heavy.

Shoulder bags are much more fashionable. But backpacks are wayyyyyy more functional

Having tried both, i prefer backpack. It balances the weight on both shoulders. No matter how light the laptop is, it will get heavy over time.

Found one that can be converted to either backpack or slingbag in Lazada for 800. Using it now with a 15.6 " Lenovo and additional stuff and seems decent. I am not so confident about loading it with really heavy stuff though.

Backpacks for me especially for those who travel a lot so you could carry everything in one go. I use Dell Laptop Backpack for by Dell G3, and Deuter Walker 24 for my Macbook Air/Surface including my clothes (also fits the G3).
