The recoil in airsoft is practically non-existent compared to actual firearms, but the cost to operate actual firearms is significantly higher with registration fees, ammunition, and protective equipment (the ear plugs you keep losing, or the electronic earmuffs you upgrade). Acclimating to recoil is simple and you can get the used to it after a couple of magazines, so you can train most of your skills on airsoft (aim, draw, muzzle discipline, target switching, etc.) then switch to actual firearms to work on skills that airsoft can't train (reloading, recoil, handling due to weight difference, etc.).
