Guest schinina
wow, great to see na may mga runners pala dito. dami rin kase mga weekend joggers or mga nakiki-fad lang, dami ko nakikita tumatakbo sa Oval recently because of the hype. kitang kita mo mga naka new shoes, mostly mga joggers, naka Nikes or Adidas as yun lang alam nila na shoes. minsan di pa angkop sa stride/foot arch nila ang sapatos na gamit. Kita mo rin mga asa sa budget pero know nothing of the sport, mga naka hydro pack pa pero inom naman ng inom, mga naka Asics shoes nga pero nagwawarm up/ stretching ng suicides/sidesteps whichis a basketball warm-up, and ma-iinjure ka doing these stunts since iba ang ankle support ng basketball shoes sa arch-support ng running shoes. nakaka-aliw lang na nakaka-irita seeing mga posers, but hey, as long as nag-eenjoy sila. natutuwa ko sa mga matatanda na laspag na mga Sauconys nila, kupas na ang attire, pero alam mo na constant ang pacing nila at 10k every other day, walang yabang, walang expensive gadgets just a good/correct shoe at watch. "when you are no longer JOGGING, you RUN." I only saw this post today. Why call such people posers? They're prolly just newbies, starting to get the feel of the sport - starting to learn about it's technicalities, we cannot really just give them names just because they're doing the wrong warm up exercise or wearing the popular and expensive brand of rubber shoes (remember almost all running articles encourages newbies to invest on a good running shoes). Almost everyone starts with little or almost zero knowledge about it... I myself failed with my first running shoe purchase, wore denim shorts during the first months of running, hydrated myself at every hydration station resulting to vomit point and failed to learn about tapering before my first race... In the end we all learn about the mishaps that happened to us during the days we call ourselves newbies. And regarding this: "when you are no longer JOGGING, you RUN." What does this mean? What do you really mean by jogging? Edited September 23, 2011 by schinina Quote Link to comment

Mr. Mister
i'm a newbie. Buying stuff for the run is a way of psyching yourself up for the run and getting excited about it. That way, if I just stay home after everything I spent, then I will feel bad. So it will make me feel better to go ahead and join. Quote Link to comment
lance2gud
Hello everyone. Question lang anyone knows what's the best way to recover from Achilles Tendinitis? Rested na from running for 2 weeks consecutive wala ng pain when I walk. di ko ma assess kung recovered na ko. Pero when I stretch I feel something on my Achilles Tendon and also parang sore yung calf muscle ko. Any tips din for gears to protect my achilles heel at tendons? thanks! Quote Link to comment

Mango Man
i'd suggest you buy one of those Spenco heel cups to provide more comfort for your feet. And stretch fully before you run.di biro yang achilles tendon na yan...if it snaps, you're looking at a long road to recovery.
