Kouji Kabuto
any fans other than myself? Quote Link to comment
Tom-Tado
I WAS a fan until they hired Isiah Thomas (the man who single handedly drove the CBA in bankruptcy when he was the President!) to destroy everything... Quote Link to comment
kanto-terrorist
minsan lang ako naging fan nyan, nung 1999, when they beat almost all the odds when they reach the finals coming from being an 8th seeded team. puro drama ang bawat laban nila. call me a bandwagoner but they really are a sentimental favorites. after that, all had been messed up. Tom-Tado
I did cheer for the Knicks too, that is because of one player i really liked and respect, Allan Houston. No offense man, Allan Houston was amazing in Detroit & his early career with NYK, his game was amazing. But respect him? No way! Not when he wouldn't retire to help the franchise! He KNEW he couldn't play anymore, but he still sat on the bench collecting his green for damn near 3 years while the payroll of the team got higher and higher. He could have saved them millions had he retired and just accepted a buyout for which he would still get money, he was rich already, but he didn't. Great player, not so great person. The GM Scott Layden was to blame for his huge contract, but Houston is also to blame for keeping his name on they payroll thus hindering the team from getting quality free agents. It's even on SI.com's Top 10 Worst Free Agent Signings! Allan Houston, New York Knicks, 2001: six years, $100 millionThis one seemed like a dog from the get-go. With Chris Webber, Antonio Davis, Dikembe Mutombo and Derek Anderson on the free-agent board, the 30-year-old Houston was barely on the radar in '01. It seemed a lock he would stay in New York -- but for $100 million? It wasn't Houston's fault that Knicks GM Scott Layden seemed intent to bid against himself and wildly overpaid for Houston's services. Quote Link to comment

The Allan Houston deal was considered as the worst signings ever.. The Knicks suffered big time because of the deal.. and this made Houston's name a house-hold item in the trash bin .. :grr: Quote Link to comment

Houston was good, but he wasn't 100 million over six years good. Quote Link to comment
rafer_alston
Agree that ALlan Houston is too f#&king overpaid... if you're Kobe Bryant, then, that figure is decent enough for someone like Kobe8!!! My dad is a great fan of this team, I began being a fan in the era of Ewing, Oakley, Charles Smith, John Starks, Anthony Mason et al... sayang ito, sana makapasok sila sa playoffs this year!!
