I am a veteran and recieved numerous needle gun shots entering the Army in 1975 with long lines before and after me recieving shots with the same guns, blood dripping from all. I contracted hepatitis C then and was hospitalized shortly after basic for a month and again for a month a year later. Since then many problems. Anyone else?

My SGPT is super high

what can I do to lower it.thanks

do i have hepa b

Hi @PierreLim.

1) That level is elevated, yes. But not super high.

2) There are no proven meds to lower liver enzymes. You may try Silymarine or Ursodeoxycholic acid (Ursofalk) to lower it but there is no 100% guarantee. You have to determine the cause. For ex., are you a heavy alcoholic drinker? Are you taking any meds?

3) That is not a hepatitis profile. Hence we cannot conclude if you have hepatitis or not.

ER

PS. Most common cause of increase in liver enzymes is fatty liver - can be caused by high fat, high cholesterol diet.

ano mas magandang gawin. pumunta muna sa urologist or magtake ako ng mga test muna para yun ang mapakita sakanya?

tapos urologist ba ang kailangan puntahan for hiv or std issues? hindi ba may specialty doctors para dun sir?

Firstly, my name is Ermita. So its kinda awkward when you call me sir.

Second - I suggest you seek consult with either a urologist or infectious disease specialist first before proceeding with the tests and also so the MD can explain the details of each test how to do, where to go, how much, etc.

Yes ideally HIV + results should be documented by DOH. But there are private test kits you can also buy online. So difficult to monitor the exact incidence of the disease.

pag nag positive kba. branded kana sa government? do they get IDs and documents?

Bakit? Positive ka ba? If so, visit a gastroenterologist so that he/she can help you out. There is law for that, that hep B positive persons should not be descriminated at work. Heck, it is even a non issue in the UK and US.

If you get tested and it turns out positive, you wont be "branded" by the goverent. You're just going to be a statistic lang, pero no personal details involved. They just give the number of positive patients then report it sa DOH.

Sa HP diagnostics and othet diagnostic centers, required sila by law to have a "consultant" specifically for HIV, regardless whether positive ka or negative.

Although di ka nan "branded" by the government, DOH gives out free meds for HIV positive patients, but you need to register with them. Amd by meds i mean to control the progression to AIDS and not actually cure them.

Question

Sa Health Certificate

ano ba naka lagay sa health certificate?

malalaman ba kung may Hepatitis B? std or aids or hiv ka?

Thanks

Depende sa klase ng health certificate. If it is intended to certify such clearance, then dapat included yan (e.g. HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, etc.). Depende sa kung anong tests ung pinagawa ng pasyente, yun ang mag-aappear. But yan ang usual battery.
