Every now and then, get a massage sa spa around Makati.  Then just walk around the village.  It's a very nice village in that outside of rush hours, it is a ghost town.   Konti lang residential buildings...10% of 250 buildings in the village.

if you have the money di na masama sa mga business district like ayala sa makati or bgc or ortigas makakalakad ka kahit papano sa gabi na medyo safe tapos almost everything is within reach.

better to retire in cebu, baguio, or in other provinces. manila is too congested.

I still prefer to retire sa squatter area.  I lived most my life there so  I'm comfortable and more importantly, truly blissful there, when I am with the poor folks.  Masaya, salu-salo, bingo sa kalsada, inuman sa tabi, tambay sa kanto...I thrive on those.  Walking without shirts and sometimes getting into fistfights with rival gangs or groups, over girls or  perceived territories, or sometimes nakursunadahan lang.  In the end, we stay together and are happy.  

This time, as I'm in my 50s, no more bedspacing.  Instead Room-for-Rent.   I'll rent the best one available sa squatter.   I'll be bringing over stuff like TV, sound system, and electric fan, and also a nice mattress for the bed (no more of those thin foam mattresses).  

I may not eat pagpag but will eat at regular karinderias.  I used to live with just 1 rice and half ulam.  Then paluto ng Lucky Me noodle with egg ke manang.

If you can afford it, definitely yes. All the major conveniences and best hospitals are here. Saya kaya ng buhay ng mga Rockwell titas who just do brunch everyday.
