You can do a lot of things like take calls, text, eat, drink, hold your GF's hand (or legs), etc. Also, for slope spots where cars are just centimeters away and you're on stop, once you move forward, automatic does not not move back whereas manual backs up in inches the moment you release the handbreak, switch your break, pedal the clutch, move the stick, and step on the accelerator.
