I have a galaxy note 3 I bought in Japan years ago and is currently locked to my carrier, AU.

I saw some guides online how to sim unlock this, but i wonder if it will work if i use it in the philippines…

Many of the malls have whole areas that do repairs of cellphones. The one that cones to mind for me is the 2nd floor of the tyangi in Greenhills. I just walk by and 10 people shout repair cellphone sir! Not where your based in QC but maybe Cubao has a similar area.

 

Just be careful and ask for a quote and their assesment if it is an easy repair so you don't spend more than getting a new phone. Also consider getting a screen protector and case next time. I've dropped my phone many times and was saved from cracked screens and scratches. Good luck!
