Gonna be learning to drive through driving school. What are your recommended schools and how much is the cost. How much time will it take for me to learn from zero to being road ready?

Nabangga ako. Hindi naman masyadong malakas (or baka malakas talaga) kaya yung bumper ng auto medyo naglean towards sa driver side.  Yung pinto ng driver side ay medyo gumagasgas sa fender panel kapag binubuksan.
Yung front bumper naipagawa ko na. Pero yung leaning sa driver side yung front ng vehicle hindi pa

Saan kaya maganda ipagawa ito? TIA!

1year&4months na yung first car ko sakin, gusto ko bumili ng mas malaki. (Mirage yung 1st car) should I go for MPV/AUV like mga xpander muna? Or pwede na ko dumiretso fortuner or pick up? HAHAHAHA!😭 malaki ba magiging adjustments? imma 4’11 girlie, but loves big cars. Huhu. Mas attracted ako sa mga ganun kesa sa honda civic. 😂 (civic talaga yung first love ko dati, but you know? People change haha)

Some considerations between MPVs, PPVs or pick-ups

- Will you be transporting more than 5 people most of the time? If yes, MPV or PPV

- Do you intend to travel along rough roads or need higher ground clearance? If yes, PPV or pick-up

- Do you prefer more car-like behavior, softer suspension? If yes, MPV

- Wala masyadong storage ang pick-up except for the pick-up bed and you'll need to spend additional for the bed cover and hindi 100% water proof most covers

- Price. MPVs like the xpander are generally cheaper compared to PPVs or pick-ups. Also xpander gasoline engine whereas PPVs and pick-ups are diesel

Sharing a realization after almost 2 years of owning a car and using it as my main transpo.

 

Mas mahal talaga siya compared sa commuting. 😅 (I mean, given naman kasi nga comfort, pero malaki tlga yung magiging difference sa expenses mo from commuter days to owning one and medyo hurt na ko dito.)

May yearly registration, PMS every 6 months or 10k km, tapos yung mga surprise repairs and maintenance pa.

 

I mean, I’m earning enough to sustain it naman, pero nanghihinayang din ako sa mga nagastos, especially now na narealize ko na ang dami palang times na pwede akong magcommute instead.

 

Like today, I went to school via commute. Trike from my condo to main road  for 10 pesos. Jeep to school  14 pesos and 3-minute walk to the gate

That’s ₱24 one way, ₱48 round trip. Wala pang parking fee. Ang layo ng cost sa daily gas + parking.

 

So kung usapang pagtitipid, hindi talaga nakakatipid ang may sariling car. (again hndi naman pagtitipid ang rason bat ka magkokotse eh. alam ko yon)

Siguro advantage lang is yung convenience. alis ka agad, no waiting.

But the downside? Parking. Kahit anong aga ko minsan, ubusan pa rin ng space. Minsan mas malayo pa nilalakad ko dahil malayo ung vacant.

 

Kaya ngayon, I'm thinking na mag-commute na lang kapag hindi naman super hassle.

What do you guys think? May naka-experience din ba ng ganitong shift? Curious ako how others manage their car use para hindi masyado magastos.

Experienced this nung bago palang ako sa Manila and started working sa first job ko almost 6 years ago. 100-120/day agad ako sa parking depends anong oras ako aalis. That's the daily expense palang. Wala pa yung weekly na gas. Then longer time frame -- yung maintenance. Problema rin parking sa office tapos yung traffic to and from nun. Tapos compared sa 2 bus + 1 jeep rides ko na parang 50 pesos lang for 1 way.

Pero narealize ko na it's a trade-off talaga ng convenience and time. Depends nalang anong mas mahalaga sayo. Like back then need ko sumakay sa terminal ng Megamall pa-fairview pauwi. Grabe yung haba ng pila. Madalas standing pa. Pagpapasok naman, siksikan sa lahat ng bus from fairview to mega. Sardinas kung sardinas talaga. You also run the risk of getting pick pocketed.

Pero for me, having/using a car talaga is the way to go -- specially in our car-centric country. Naaalala ko nung gitna ng pandemic, kinailangan namin umuwi ng province. Yun pa yung time na walang maayos na structure for public transpo -- let alone yung papuntang province. Laking convenience na may kotse ka. Assured ka rin sa safety kasi kasama mo sa bahay yung mga kasama mo sa car.

More recently too, nasira kotse ko and couldn't use it for almost two months. I had a 2 PM - 11 PM shift pa that time. You'd think na mas maluwag na mag commute nang 11 PM. Realized na it wasn't. Sardinas pa rin yung bus pauwi samin. Mototaxi tuloy every night. 

I think unless sobrang maayos na yung public transpo natin and safety is vastly improved, using/owning a car is the way to go talaga. Tiis nalang sa gastos for the convenience

I've only been using my dad's old car, so tcpl lang. Wala masyadong takot ma gasgasan, etc. Pero now na magnew car na, I'm thinking mag comprehensive insurance. Which car insurance ba ang competitive ang features/benefits, mabilis ang service at matino ang customer service? I'm ok kung hindi sila ang pinaka mura, as long as worth it naman when it's needed na. I mean aanhin ang mura kung garbage ang service. I'm reading about malayan and standarding na sobrang tagal ng claims at pahirapan talaga. But for your guys maayos ba yung axa, oona, etc? or how about yung mga insurance na offer ng banks, like bpi or pnb?
