stick to the career directly related to the course you finished. Tyaga ka mag ipon ng experience saka mo targetin ang mag abroad. Wag ka papabulag sa mga naglalakihang sahod na alok sa mga call center.

don't rush things.. good things will come in due time.. but for now, you have to endure ( work load, commute, small salary) and learn as much as you can.

Have the confidence to speak up and speak in correct English......often times fluency wins over paper credentials in a job interview. Of course, what you say has to make sense!

1. not everyone of you will be at the top ten of your class nor the board. to graduate and get your license (if professional) is enough to set your sail. do not be down hearted. every sem there are a lot of you coming out from college. just imagine how many top notchers coming out every year, dont worry, diligence is the way to get a job. and it helps more if you know someone inside.

2. to pass an interview, you need to be confident. they ask a lot, but deep inside they know they are talking to a blank piece of paper. no experience and all. so dont be afraid to answer their questions, be honest and show them that you can pick up new things easily.

3. dont choose a salary at the start of your career, learn first, then change companies when you are knowledgeable enough to transfer to another company.

4. show your dedication to your work. dont line up at 4:30pm like a grade school kid. learn new stuff daily. meet new people daily, know what they do and how they do it. so know where you fit and where is your boundaries.

5. reserve your name above all else. sacrifice all if needed. your name is the most important thing. if you lose that name, then i do not know how you can recover.

 

 

lastly, unemployment doesnt mean you failed. you just need to look at a new perspective. do not and never give up. thats the game plan. never changes. never will.

don't be discouraged pag di kayo natatanggap sa mga ina-applyan niyong jobs. use it as motivation. kahit na meron akong postgrad degree, i was once declined a job in a local bank because of my failing grades, sabi sa akin ng interviewer "we don't accept people with failing grades in college or high school" so sinabi ko sa sarili ko "lalampasan ko kayo"

 

you don't learn everything in school, you need experience. schools will give you a foundation, nothing more, parka-graduate mo it's everybody for themselves.

 

don't be intimidated by people who have loads of academic degrees/designations pero walang experience. dami kong na-encounter na other nationalities who have 5 or 6 designations (CFA, ITIL, CISA, PMP, etc), with zero experience. so paginating nila sa workplace, it's all swagger but no substance. don't be fooled!

Pwede bang makisawsaw?

 

1. Your college performance will not really matter in the real world unless may makakasama kang college friends (or pwede na ding college f#&k buddies).

2. Matutong bumanat ng bola or white lie. Joke only. Matutong magsabi ng white lie at ihanda mo ang sarili mo sa pagcommit sa white lie na iyon. Example: I'm willing to work on graveyard shift.

3. Ok lang mangapa sa mga unang araw ng trabaho. Malamang, baka maging friend mo pa ang ka-opisina mong 2 decades older than you.

4. Isa-puso ang ilang malalalim na termino tulad ng managerial work, administrative work. At matuto mag-MS word, excel, powerpoint at publisher. 90% ng magiging trabaho mo ay pagiging errand boy/girl.

5. Pag-aralan ang ginagawa ng mga tao habang errand boy/girl ka. Kapag tinapunan ka na ng seryosong workload, maappreciate mo ang pagiging errand boy/girl mo.

6. Makipag-sapalaran nang naaayon sa kapasidad mong gumastos. Remember, wala kang baon ngayon.

7. Wag kang maintimidate sa mga may latin honor. May kilala akong Magna Cum Laude, pero lagpas isang taon naghanap ng trabaho.

Look for a job kahit hindi fit sa tinapos nyo course.

 

Ako, I will admit, that the competition for job hiring is much tougher kasi na experience ko na yan until now.

 

Hindi ka na sure na ma hire ka kahit marami kang na acquire skills and may high confidence ka.

 

And if you acquired a job and gusto mo talaga doon sa trabaho na fit sa tinapos mo, then go but be sure na may lilipatan ka and enough financial capital before you resign.
