Dsl Or Cable Broadband?

Sa amin Sky "Fiber"(kahit naka coax) reliable naman kahit nung nagpandemic. Downtime ay around 5% per year(sa case namin) meron kasi ako inerefer na kapitbahay namin dun sa Sky pero mas madalas ang downtime nila. Then nalaman ko ibang(newer) type cable modems na ang nakakabit di katulad sa amin na slightly older pa. Sa DSL naman as per PLDT tech dito(bago namin ipaputol ang landline) yung vdsl ay copper lines(linya ng telephone) pa din ang gamit. Ang issue ay di nila pinalitan ang copper lines/boxes dito sa area kaya dun din daw magfafactor yung lalabas na download at upload speed ni PLDT vdsl. Although may fiber lines na na nilatag ang converge, globe at pldt sa subdivision, watch mode na lang muna.

This topic would still been useful/informational back when DSL & Cable broadband was still the "hottest" picks for hi-speed internet.

Si PLDT at si Sky Cable ang magkalaban diyan eh;  PLDT for DSL at si ZipiDee for Sky Broadband (paki-correct na lang po if mali yung brand name 😁)

 

Balik tayo ngayon (2024); its Fiber optic internet na.

Converge, for me is the better provider amongst the rest.

PLDT, I guess, comes in second..

Ang pinakaworst ay kay Globe at SkyFiber. 🙃
