SamanthaJones
i followed your advice and used safe mode... got the problem solved. among the suspicious files flagged by the antivirus is 'autoit.ADEC' and some trojan droppers. i am confident it will work fine now and i shall be spared of re-installing XP. you are very good Sam J. thanksReally? That's great! Usually safe mode works because only xp drivers are working, eliminates virus/spyware that are loaded with the drivers. Make sure you turn on system restore back. Glad to help. Pinoymale
This problem happens every once in awhile: I would look at my pc clock and it would show either a wrong hour or AM/PM, or both. When I boot the computer, I know that the clock time is correct but somewhere along the way, it changes. What could be causing this? Quote Link to comment

JackGrimaldi
Hi guys, I've recently noticed that whenever i right-click on my desktop and select Refresh, the command prompt briefly displays on my taskbar. I suspect this could be a malware but so far i haven't been able to remove it with my antivirus. Any input on this? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

solutiontech
I set up the MS outlook on my laptop's MS 7 with my gmail with pop settings. The folders were getting synchronized up to Oct. 2008 from the start point which was April 2007. After that it just ended there. Although I can send emails from gmail through outlook. I can't seem to receive any new emails past the Oct. 2008 in the inbox and but I do get updated rss feeds. Any idea if I should delete all that's in the inbox. I tried to archive it by setting archive anything older than 11 months because what I needed access on my outlook was 1 year worth of email but it has not archived any. I synchronized my outlook to my gmail because it's easier to sort and search email through outlook. Hope I can get a pointer on how to resolve this issue. Thanks. marvindelmar67
no my friend, ping/icmp echo is practically used on troubleshooting most network related problems. It usually what we call as "The First Step" Ping is a computer network administration utility used to test the reachability of a host on an Internet Protocol (IP) network and to measure the round-trip time for messages sent from the originating host to a destination compute Quote Link to comment
