When I turn my laptop on, the power button stays on as well as the video player keys (Play, Pause, Volume, etc.). When I had it checked, the technician took out the memory and cleaned it but nothing changed so he said it's most likely the motherboard. The laptop is an hp dv1016 and the technician said it's a common problem for that series/model. Quote Link to comment

Hmm, I don't remember doing anything before the problem started. I didn't install any new hardware. As for software, only usual ones like Winzip, video player, etc. Quote Link to comment
