Arneeious
ano ba problem nun laptop mo? Sorry, I forgot to clarify that I wanted my laptop motherboard checked. When I turn my laptop on, the power button stays on as well as the video player keys (Play, Pause, Volume, etc.). When I had it checked, the technician took out the memory and cleaned it but nothing changed so he said it's most likely the motherboard. The laptop is an hp dv1016 and the technician said it's a common problem for that series/model. Quote Link to comment

Pinoymale
anything you did before the problem happened ?? replaced a HD reinserted a memory card?? or a pci devices ???? Hmm, I don't remember doing anything before the problem started. I didn't install any new hardware. As for software, only usual ones like Winzip, video player, etc. Quote Link to comment
Pinoymale
this is a video card problem. if it's onboard video, try to buy an add-on card. if this does not fix the issue, i suggest that you buy a new mobo. I'll see about buying an add-on card. Hopefully, this will fix the problem so I won't have to bother with buying a new mobo. Quote Link to comment
Pinoymale
try reseating the cables..if it doesnt work, try an add-on video card or just buy a new motherboard..how old's your computer anyway? Thanks for the tips. My pc (and all its parts) is 3 years old. I think the problem is getting worse. Just this morning I turned it on (after several rounds of the beep sequence), and apparently my MSOffice was spontaneously uninstalled. Quote Link to comment

wizard23
hello. my pc experienced a boot failure. so i brought it at PC EXpress. was told na me tama na yung isang hard drive. unfortunately, that is where i installed my OS. my 2nd hard drive contains my data. fortunately naka backup naman to an external drive so the technician asked permission to reformat the affected drive and install a trial OS XP since i didnt' bring mine. apparently, i can't remove the trial OS in drive c. i ended up installing my Home XP at drive d. so whenever i boot up, i was given a prompt to select the OS system kasi dalawa sila. the trial xp was a professional edition. siempre, i chose my Home XP. QUESTION po: 1. how do i remove the trial version? i tried to format it but it won't. tried to format both drives then will reinstall my XP OS to no avail. 2. how do i make a faster boot up? everytime i open my pc, it counts 30 secs. even if i press enter, it won't start until the seconds are down to zero. tnx for the advice! (1) Dude, Pano mo ba sinubukan tanggalin? You might need at least a bootable Windows XP CD then boot into that disc. THen just follow instructions. (2) Reconfigure your BIOS/CMOS. Look for an option saying "Post Screen" or "Post Delay" or something like that. Nakalagay don kung ilang seconds bago magtuloy sa boot-up sequence. Palitan mo, gawin mong 0 or any option you want. hehehe. I usually set it to zero(0). ------------------------------------------------------------------ Question for the Masters: May na encounter akong laptop na yung hard disk ay di ko ma install-an ng XP. Na reformat ko na siya, kaso nga lang, tuwing susubukin ko mag install ng fresh copy ng XP, sa una, maglo load siya from boot-up. Then bigla na lang lalabas ang error na as if walang hard drive na naka install. Anybody encountered this before? Any feedback would surely help. TIA! Quote Link to comment

Pinoymale
I took my desktop to a repair shop and they said I needed to replace my power supply and re-install my Win XP. The shop replaced my power supply and also installed a new Win XP. My problem now is that my download speed is waaaay slow. Before the repair, when I download in Rapidshare, the average speed was around 30-40 kb/s. Afterwards, the speed was down to about 8-10 kb/s. What took 1hr to download before now takes 5-6 hrs. I called PLDT and they said there was no problem with the connection in my area (Las Pinas). Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem? Quote Link to comment
