vgbond
of course Clothes doesn't Make the Man A robber is still a robber even if he wears a custom-made tuxedo. The president will still be the president even if he wears simple t-shirt and shorts I think the "Clothes make the man" idea came from the fashion point of view or something related to that.Because it is obviously false if you really analyze it objectively and I just realized I'm in the "Fashion" section of the forum lol..The disadvantage of viewing threads using the "View New Content" button hehe Quote Link to comment

Il pirata
In everything, fit and comfort are most important - the better you feel, the more confident you are; making you more confident - thus making you more appealing. That being said, it still boils down to the man. Clothes help but it is still up to the guy wearing them to make 'em rock or not.My two kopeks. Quote Link to comment
Piaggio
People judge you by what you wear. Dress up appropriately. Quote Link to comment

Jonas2085
The man makes the clothes. I can stand next to a guy wearing a branded get up and still look way better than him while only wearing something I bought from a thrift shop. Just saying, not bragging. It's all about how you carry yourself. Quote Link to comment

chessboxin
if you don't want to dress for the occasion, you better make sure your credentials are astounding enough to make up for it. there are wealthy and powerful people who can get away with wearing tattered polo shirts and jeans because everyone already knows how rich they are. coming from a lower-income family, I know more than most people not to judge a person by his looks or what he wears. from college up to my first 5 years of working, i bought a lot of my clothes from ukay. But at least making an effort to dress for the occasion shows that you have some EQ for the job. it shows that regardless of your financial background, you are aware of customs and traditions of society.
