Sa mga mayayaman & elitista, akala nila kung sino silang colonial master. Pareho pareho lang naman ipinanganak tayo na hubad sa mundo, nagugutom, tumatae, nasasaktan... Akala ng karamihan sa kanila na sila lang ang tao. Most of all, yung mga inasaahan nilang baguhin sa masa, di rin nila magawa & sila pa ang sinisisi sa sitwasyon sa Pinas. Palibhasa, sila ang namumuno. Sila ang me kagagawan. Marahil, sila ang isa sa mga ugat ng problema.

 

Sa karamihan ng mga burgis o gitnang uri, takot sa pagbabago kasi baka maging poor sila sa huli. Inggitero sa mga mayayaman & elitista & gustong gustong gayahin imbis na gumawa ng panibagong kulturang angkop sa kung ano ang likas o kusa sa Pinoy. Mas mabuti pang mag-abroad kesa subukan i-rock the boat.

 

Sa karamihan ng mga masa, mahilig sa drama & pantasya. Tapos, ginagaya pa! Tuloy, ang dali dali silang goyohin ng mga mayaman & artrista sa pamamagitan ng media, ng mga militar & pulis sa pamamagitan ng pananakot & dahas, ng mga pulitika sa pamamagitan ng pangako & barya & ng mga banyaga dahil sa inggit sa kanila o kaya asawahin.

 

In general, self-flagellating, very little self-respecting sense of nationalist pride. Extols excellence but frowns when it is practiced by others who exceed the mediocrity they really practice. Friendship out of fellowship (pakikisama) has higher value than friendship based on principles & what is true, right & just. Kamag-anak, kapanyero, kaibigan muna bago lahat.

 

In short, it is said, you can judge a society's character by the way they behave in sports & during meals. How pinoys behave in the basketball court & fiestas say a lot.

Pre, I completely agree with your observation. Let me cite an example.

 

Several years ago, in preparation for the Olympics, the Philippine National Basketball Team toured the US to play college teams. During that time, they stopped and played my Alma mater, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. During the first half, the Golden Gophers easily built a big lead. The Pinoy team, realizing they were overmatched, started to play dirty. A fight broke out just before half-time ended due to the very obvious extremely dirty tactics used the the Pinoys. When the second half started, the crowd of about 20,000 yelled "Assholes", "Philippine Assholes" each time a Pinoy was handling the ball. This went on during the entire second half. I was in that crowd that day and was totally shocked and embarrassed. Nakakahiya talaga. No sense of pride. THAT WAS OUR NATIONAL Team for Christ sake!!!!

the new rich people, as if they've been born in wealth and all, gets snooty and mean to other people! unlike the old rich i knew, they are so low profiled blokes who doesn't give lavish parties and all and they are surprisingly really nice people! Breeding does show only to people who were born with it...

Yung madaling maniwala sa sabi daw. sabi daw ni so and so kaya totoo na agad. Gullible at mahilig sa masamang tsismis.
