pre thats not solicited. i really appreciate you taking the time to come up with a write up every week.

i guess the other guys appreciate it as well pero shempre in a macho society as ours medyo nakakailang ang magsabi sa ibang lalaki na ok yung ginagawa nila. buti na lang i'm in touch with my feminine side. hahahaha

am sure no one would doubt ur sexuality  or else they get a warning or somethin...nyahahaha... and boss Switlass would be the first to berate the first poster to doubt ur masculinity :boo: kaya confident kang banggitin ang iyong "feminine side" hehehe...

but yeah... thanx for appreciatin' Tim Shady's effort for the writeup... at least ngaun ndi mo ako kinulit sa YM for a deadline :boo: nweis... writeup comin' in a bit... stay tuned...

On playing small, havin' fun and MTVs :boo:

Playing with a small lineup over two teams with more players standing above 5-foot-8 and weighing 10 or 15 pounds heavier than them seemed to be a mismatch among any standards, particularly in basketball games. But lo, and behold, the "Davids" of last Wednesday night's game held their own against two taller and heftier teams to boot.

While the AA/T-Gang squad split their two games -- won over the DMC-led Team 1 and fell short against the Frenzy-led Team 2 -- one thing was proven. With grit, determination and some hard work amidst the fun and lively basketball atmosphere at the RFM gym one Wednesday night, height is not always might in a suppossedly big man's game.

Despite the last-minute addition of muscular, 5-foot-10 slotman Dimitri in the AA/T-Gang lineup and 5-foot-9 Tim Shady into the fold, the rest of the lineup -- the T-Gang foursome of Taken, Ting Lacson, Tjert and Tobleron, the AA duo of wolf and ovaltine kid, former UC player bangzie and KMNV guard fishken -- all stand no taller than 5-foot-5.

Height discrepancies aside, the AA/T-Gang squad surprised the DMC-led Team 1 with some run-and-gun offense and a decent defense in the first game. The presence of the hulking Dims, who replaced mallninja with such a late notice, was a blessing as he provided the needed presence in the lane, an inside threat and the much needed defensive muscle.

Imagine Dimitri battling two DMC big men Adolph and Icki, with the same bulk and muscle in the first game? Good thing it was a team effort on the defensive end as the tall but a bit leaner Tim Shady, the athletic Tjert and Ting Lacson compensated for their lack of bulk to some hustle and a li'l jumpin' ability to outhustle the DMC's big men.

Taken was his usual deadly self, hitting one 3-pointer after the other with some slashing drives to boot. Ovaltine Kid was at his old self, being deadly on the break and scoring many layups off long passes. And yes, Wolf hit his stride with his triples as well.

The two MIBL veterans -- Bangzie and Fishken -- also provided the needed offense at the right occassions. Bangzie hit a couple of mid-range jumpers while Fish provided more than just the hustle plays, including a highlight looping layup over two DMC players in one play  But overall, it was a team effort and the AA/T-Gang won over DMC-AA by a little over six points. As it was, someone lost the final scores (again, hehe).

By the second game, the fresh Frenzy squad started strong against a bit weary AA/T-Gang squad, going 6-0 before finally breaking the ice with a basket (wonder who scored that time ). By halftime (after 30 minutes of playing) the Frenzy squad was just ahead by three points and a chance to win a second straight game was possible, tired bodies and all.

But the Frenzy-led squad -- pizzapandesal, chickvoi, fake roxas, kosakhy, stonerockbato, pine, boss poknat, porch zero, redhorse guy and yong fu -- had more firepower in the end and outhustled the AA/T-Gang in the final moments to edge them by at least four points. The AA/T-Gang squad thus split their two games, with a short lineup nonetheless.

In the third game, the DMC-led squad, wit gung-ho guard onslut leading the charge, had a good start against the Frenzy-Team 2 squad which, like AA/T-Gang, had weary bodies early in the game.

The DMC guys were aggressive throughout. The team's big men -- Icki and Adolph, were grabbing rebounds and scoring inside at times. Teio and sikosci had some jumpers in both games, bandtrip and

merchet the hustle plays while balatuba and bullswakman also did their share on both ends.

But the Frenzy squad still have enough in them when the second half of the third game came. Fake-Roxas and Kosakhy found their range and hit some baskets, Pine was aggressive on both ends, whle Porch, Red Horse and Yong fu also scored key baskets in one stretch as they pulled away amidst a barrage of baskets late in the game. Poks had his moments with some jumpers, driving layups and some trashtalking  (hehehe peace dude, nyahahaha).

In fairness, the DMC squad fell short in both games not because of the lack of energy to some players. While Onslaught was his old self in scoring on drives, jumpers and some 3-pointers, it is a known fact that this team missed Duayne in most parts of the games. While the rest of the guys had their share in scoring and playing defense, Dwayne provides more hustle, jumping ability and the scoring punch these guys sorely missed. Here's hoping the lanky swingman from DMC be back for next week.

As in the previous week, the guys had another productive Wednesday night staying fit, playing hoops and be the MJs, Lebrons, Shaqs or Garnetts in their own right  And yes, idol Taken even made an MTV-type video of the guys' exploits in the games with the East Cowboys from two weeks ago. With the Black Eyed Peas' "Shut Up" as the music background, the guys were shown like NBA players in their own right  A huge credit for Taken here.

In endin' this piece, how did Tim Shady summed up his game? It's safe to say Shady played a better first game than the second game. Not just because he's part of the AA/T-Gang team that fell short against the Frenzy-led squad in the second game, but more to it. Just had a lot of energy in the first game, despite arrivin' late (again, hehe) around almost 930 pm. had some banked shots, mid-range jumpers layups and even a short floatin layup that wasnt supposed to get in. By the second game, Shady ran out of energy :( and missed most of his shots. But at least held mah own on defense. Or sort of.

So it's on to the coming Wednesday games. Small lineup and all on one side, playing basketball will always be fun with these guys. And it should be a bonus if another MTV-video will be made real soon
