hey ybp thanks for always dropping by and lifting the thread.

lets try the system muna na pinost ko above. hassle lang with the refs kasi i have to bring them home and that disrupts the most favorite part of wed night for me - tapa king. (two weeks na akong tigang dyan)

if ever we'll want the referees talaga i might just offer them 1200 and have them take a cab home.

Adrenaline Rush

 

While most peeps are out enjoyin' their Sept. 30th paydays while some windin' up their work in their respective offices, Tim Shady's in a rush postin' this piece... on Poknat's orders While there's still some deadlines to take care of. Might as well give this a try, though

 

What made last Wednesday' night's basketball scrimmages different from the previous games was a team very familiar with most guys herre dropped by to join in the fun.

 

The East Cowboys, the reigning MTCBL champions, might not be in full force by showing up with just nine players but they gamely took on the challenge of playing two straight games for two hours against two teams from the Wed. Night group and came out just like winners on both occasions. Despite splitting their two games.

 

When the first game commenced past 9 pm. (910 p.m. someone told Tim Shady), the match looked like a repeat of the Cowboys -- Team Frenzy fnals series as some familiar handles figured in the final moments. The usual suspects from the Cowboys -- playing coach mana-Jerzz, Spock, triggerman, Stiff, Greeneyes, Partykc, Vindiesel, Fets, Fifth Pineapple and Levis --- had some rustiness at the start but soon found their rhythm against the Frenzy (and guests) squad led by former newbies Pizzapandesal, Chickvoi, Stonerockbato, Dirk stojakovic, Fake Roxas, Bino 16 and Kosahky.

 

Even if the final score was,unfortunately, lost by some scorer and Pok's ability to re-locate it Tim Shady vividly remembers the Cowboys' edging Frenzy by a point through Stiff's inside stab with less than a minute remaining. Missed opportunities from Frenzy in the next two possessions with no time remaining cost them gthe game. Good thing it was only a scrimmage game. These two teams surely would be back for the next MTCBL wars sometime next year. Or late December perhaps.

Pickin' up where Tim Shady left off.... Adrenaline Rush (continued...)

 

While the first game featured sort of a Cowboys-Frenzy re-match, Frenzy was joined in the match by the "T-Gang" (no relation to the Tigang Gang ), a group of four dudes who ironically, have their MTC handles startin' wit the letter "T" :boo:

 

The "T-Gang" -- goggle-powered Taken, newly changed handle Ting Lacson and hardworkers Tjert07 and Tobleron222 --- provdied a different flow to the Team Frenzy-led squad with some outside shooting, pure hustle and some pesky defense to boot. Taken had his share of outside jumpers and treys, Ting some inside stabs while Tjert and Tobleron the dirty work inside while guarding like 10 to 15 pounds heavier and three inches taller than them. Curiously, Tim Shady is a "guest player" among the T-Gang, just because mah handle also starts with a "T" :boo:

 

After the first hour, the Cowboys hardly got enough rest to face the second team, this time led by DMC speedsters Onslaught and Dwayne. The rest of Team 2 -- porchzero, ybpc, wolf, fishkentutan, iki,

adolfy, balatuba and boss poknat -- were all hyped and ready. While the Cowboys, all nine players of them, were quite weary from the close game against the Team Frenzy-led Team 1.

 

But in fairness to the Cowboys, they fought on early into the second game behind the shooting of triggerman Stiff, who hardly showed any rust after weeks of not playing. Though no one seemed to count how many treys this dude connected, its safe to say his shooting was way over 50 percent from 3-point range that time. And that was enough to keep the game close. So far.

 

It was midway into the second game when fatigue factor crept into some of the Cowboys. But to the DMC-led Team 2's credit, they worked hard for every basket and sped their way to fastbreaks and easy Js'. Onslaught and Dwayne led the fastbreaks most of the time, from slashing drives to pop-up jumpers to boot.

 

Porch also had his moments wit his inside stabs, Fishken, though missin' a sorry layup in one play, provided some hustle early on, and Wolf the usual playmaking skills. Iki and Adolph provided the inside presence and a decent defense, YBPC the outside shooting, while Balatuba and Poknat the instant offense and steady defense.

 

Of course the game's wont be complete, especially for boss Poknat, with the presence of "boss" Switlass :boo: Who inspired Poks to play harder (didnt see most of your shots, boss, hehe peace)...And yeah, the DMC-AA squad won by around five points it seems.

 

In the third game, the DMC-AA team this time felt the fatigue factor as Team Frenzy/T-Gang routed them by around 15 points in the last game. Everybody had their moments on the floor, hitting one jumper after the other, while the other team was just tired yet contented winning over the Cowboys.

 

As for Tim Shady? As always in ending this piece, only got one basket ( a far jumphook which not many peeps thought would go in)in the first game (was late again :boo: but did arrived around 930 pm) before finally hittin' some banked shots and layups in the last game. Always a room for improvement, not just for Tim Shady, but for everyone else. But in the end, everybody had fun, got fit, and got game. On to next Wednesday then.

yes i agree that one of the factors of the cowboys loss was fatigue. imagine playing two hours straight! stiffler was a major factor in keeping them in the game. pucha sobrang init nya that night. sa lagay na yan wala pa si pepemonz sa line up nila. i mean having a center of his proportions can really clog the lanes making it tough for any shot in the paint.
