timberprimerib Posted June 25, 2008 Share Posted June 25, 2008 I would think lower octane fuels will be more fuel efficient simply because it is not as combustible as higher octane ones like V power...(95 or 96 octane).But might only be true to smaller cars since bigger cars would need more power so power to weight ratio may come in. Many cars in the US use 87 octane while most of our stations here use 91(e.. Extra or Silver). might be a government rule.Theoretically octane may play a factor in your consumption.
